Jordin, Blake and Melinda Join July 4th Celebrations!
NBC will celebrate America’s 231st birthday with a live broadcast of the “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.” Of the performers, country music star (and American Idol guest) Martina McBride will open the event and Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis and Melinda Doolittle will perform a song together to tribute the Nation’s birthday.
The event is America’s largest 4th of July fireworks extravaganza and will feature 35,000 shells which will be set off over New York City.

American Idol Top 10 on Larry King
What a weird interview but here’s all six parts. The top 10 contestants from this season of American Idol appeared on Larry King this week. There is a disproportionate amount of attention on Sanjaya but Jordin Sparks does get some one-on-one time. I love how, aside from Jordin and Blake, the rest are called “Sanjaya and the other finalists.” Ouch. Also, Melinda and Lakisha are kinda quiet, tucked in that back corner.

Simon Has Love for Melinda, Advice for Britney
Everyone saw how disappointed Simon Cowell was when Melinda Doolittle was voted off of this season of American Idol. I guess he still has a warm place in his heart for her, as he should. He does, however, seem to dislike Britney Spears.

Melinda’s Face During Jordin’s Performance
So many of you have written in to ask if I saw Melinda Doolittle’s face during Jordin Sparks’ performance. I did but I did not have a screenshot of it. TallFreak has graciously provided me with one. It is priceless. Melinda’s probably just concentrating on what Jordin’s doing but I cracked up last night. In this shot, even Chris Richardson looks a little taken-aback but he is a Blake Lewis fan, so it’s understandable.

After reading that Entertainment Weekly article, I have developed an opinion, of sorts, about last night. It helped me identify what, exactly, about last night bothered me. It was the repeat songs! American Idol – Top 3 Redux
Season six of American Idol is coming to an end. With three contestants left, Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks and Melinda Doolittle will be battling for a spot in the finals. American Idol Top 3 on Cover of TV Guide
Blake Lewis, Jordin Sparks and Melinda Doolittle appear on the May 21st edition of TV Guide. That should be interesting! I’m not sure how I feel about this picture though – Jordin is featured prominently, part of Blake’s head is missing and Melinda almost looks like the makeup artist who was walking by, realized someone was taking a picture and stopped for the shot. Thousands Welcome Melinda Doolittle
Several thousand people gathered on the campus of Belmont University this morning, some arriving as early as 6 a.m., to welcome American Idol Top 3 semifinalist Melinda Doolittle back to her alma mater. Doolittle, who was once the college mascot, graduated in 1999.

Dissecting Bee Gee Week’s Fashion – What Was Blake Thinking?
Oh my goodness. I could not believe my eyes when American Idol’s resident cutie, Blake Lewis, came out in a tuxedo t-shirt and skunky hair. It’s alright, we forgave him. Entertainment Weekly spoke to Miles Siggins, a stylist for the Idol contestants, and this is what he had to say:

Ouch. Tonight was not good. I’m super bummed because I love Barry Gibb but tonight’s American Idol performances were really, really bad.
Melinda Doolittle sang “Love You Inside Out” and “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.” Yowsa. Both performances were pretty lackluster and I was even bored.
