Carrie Underwood's First "Official" Public Appearance With Her Fiance

Country music superstar Carrie Underwood was on hand at the annual Sens’ Soiree fundraiser at the Hilton Lac Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec this past week and fans finally got to see some cute pics of her and her brand-new fiance, Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, together!

The event was their first “official” red carpet appearance together and as you can see they both look pretty happy about it! The two were at the event to help raise money for four local hospital foundations, and they served as celebrity dealers at a blackjack table before mingling with guests and hockey players.

Carrie and Mike have been engaged since this past December and have not yet set a wedding date.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher Engaged

Country crooner Carrie Underwood is rumored to have gotten engaged to her hockey playing boyfriend Mike Fisher this past weekend!

The couple, who have been dating since October 2008 when they were set up by friends, have kept a really low profile — in fact, I haven’t been able to find a pic of them together, which is saying something considering how relentless paps are about stuff like this.

Fisher, who plays for the Ottawa Senators, recently said: “Obviously it’s tough with our schedules to see each other. But we always find a way to make it work.”

Carrie also gave a shout-out to Fisher on her current album Play On, thanking “#12:”

“Thank you #12. You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day… xoxo, Carrie.”

I wonder if 2009 will be the year of love for Carrie Underwood? Poor girl – she seems to have had her run of bad luck when it comes to picking Mr. Right.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, Underwood, 25, has been romantically linked to Canadian-born hockey player Mike Fisher, 28, a 6′1" center for the NHL’s Ottawa Senators.

The romance apparently began after Fisher went backstage following a concert of Underwood’s March 21 at Scotiabank Place where she performed before 7,700 country fans. The couple hit it off, say observers, and then began dating a short time after their initial meeting.

That’s coming up on a year already – could be serious!
