Amy Sherman-Palladino is aces at capturing nontraditional relationships between mothers and their kids. Her show Gilmore Girls, about a single mom raising her daughter in a quirky town away from her WASPy parents, is one of our absolute favorite dramedies. Unfortunately, her follow-up, The Return of Jezebel James, didn’t make it past one season even though it tread the interesting ground of surrogacy. We think Sherman-Palladino could have a winner with her latest project: Adapting The Nanny Diaries, the novel about a nanny working for a privileged family in the Upper East Side, into a TV series for ABC. Here’s a question I never know how to answer: “What’s your type?” I mean, how do you respond to that without seeming like a totally judgmental jerk? So I usually say that I don’t really have a type, but secretly, I know it isn’t true. Thing is, I totally do have a preferred variety of male, and it’s the boyfriend characters from the heyday of The WB. Jess from Gilmore Girls, Ben from Felicity, Eddie from Dawson’s Creek: beautiful, secretly sensitive bad boys who totally, like, read books and stuff. So here they are in gallery format, those prime examples of my type: the ten dreamiest WB characters of all time. More »

Milo can be seen in the trailer at the :03 mark. It can’t be embedded, so click on through to Parallel Universe to have a… More »

Ah, Heroes. As much as I love Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls), I’m pretty tempted to stop watching this show. Wow, way to not start off the season well! I’ve been pretty generous with this series so far – giving it multiple chances last season to get back my attention. Sometimes it did. I liked the character development. But this season, in attempting to “redeem” itself (so ironic given the Chapter is also Redemption), Heroes has introduced *way… More »

Like previous girlfriends, Alexis Bledel and Hayden Panettiere, Jaimie is younger than Milo (25 to his 32).
