Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed Announced Their Engagement at the MTV Movie Awards

Lost in the sea of red carpet outfits and preshow interviews last night was one really important piece of gossip: Twilight star Nikki Reed and American Idol alum Paul McDonald are engaged! Nikki was wearing a sparkly engagement ring on the red carpet for the MTV Movie Awards, and when asked admitted that she and Paul are tying the knot.

Though they’ve only been together for a few months, the couple has been inseparable and have been spotted house-hunting in the Los Angeles. “I’ve never met anyone like him,” Nikki told People magazine. “I’ve never met anyone who has such a good solid heart and comes from such a good solid family and is just a genuine person. We have the exact same sense of humor. I’ve never laughed so much with anyone as I do with him.”

Can you imagine that wedding? I’m already visualizing Robert Pattinson dancing with Pia Toscano or Kellan Lutz trying to make small talk with Scotty McCreery. How do I crash the reception?

If a tree falls in the forest, and a celebrity isn’t there to tweet about it, does it make a sound? You could ask the same question of tonight’s MTV Movie Awards, but luckily plenty of stars were tweeting about the award show.

Spoiler alert: not only did Ashton stop by, he wore a tuxedo and presented an award.

Dancing with the Stars pro Lacey Schwimmer should refrain from mentioning the Biebs if she doesn’t want to get Twitter-bombed.

Nicki Minaj found a very subtle way to Humblebrag that she’s at the Movie Awards and you’re not. Well played, Minaj.

How do you put those pesky Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis hookup rumors to rest? Create an MTV Movie Awards intro segment that involves Justin grabbing Mila’s boobs. Yeah, we know it’s supposed to be a joke inspired by their movie Friends with Benefits, but the rumor mill ought to start all over again now. If it’s true Justin is secretly hooking up with Ashley Olsen, then this is a brilliant diversion.

The 20th MTV Movie Awards airs at 9/8c this Sunday. There’ll be musical numbers, exclusive speak peaks, and Kristen Stewart and Robert Patterson kissing extremely awkwardly (although this year Taylor Lautner could join them, creating the only three person kiss less awkward then a traditional pairing). But what I’ll really be watching for is the annual movie parody.

Below are some of the best parodies of the last twenty years (and a clip of last year’s JLo/Tom Cruise dance, just because). Some need no explanation (Betty White in a giant fuzzy top hat) while some just illustrate a bygone era (was Andy Dick really that popular with the MTV set?). Now the question remains, what movie will they make fun of this year? My hope is they’ll use The Social Network. Jason Sudeikis won’t even have to say anything, just desperately attempt to get a word in edgewise between the mile a minute dialogue.

1997-Scream

I guess we know who the girls of Clueless grow up to be.

2002 – Lord of the Rings

I’m pretty sure if Buffy had led the quest to Mount Doom it only would have taken one movie.

Lady Gaga looking normal, you ask? Not possible! A Crushable tipster reports that was the case last night on New York City’s Lower East Side where Gaga hung out at the dive bar Welcome To The Johnsons. “She had her entourage of hipsters and security. Was wearing a coat because it was raining. Goes there a couple times a year, according to some NYU kids,” our source tells us.

Crazy! But we suppose a torrential downpour would make it difficult to pull off those custom-designed geometric dresses from the future without getting them wet!

The Office‘s Jenna Fischer — who’s from St. Louis — two-timing the Cardinals by wearing an L.A. Dodger hat … at an Dodger game, so it kinda makes sense. But still! She bought a Dodger Dog, noted our pissed source.
Keith Powell, the guy who plays Toofer from 30 Rock, sitting in the audience at American Idiot on Broadway. No word on his reaction to the show.
Michael Cera bursting out into song at a party in the uber-hipstery ‘hood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. His tune of choice: Tainted Love. The next day, he presented at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles. Busy guy.
