Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy premiered on Lifetime last night and it was, in a word, awesome. Starring Hayden Panettiere as Amanda Knox and Marcia Gay Harden as Amanda’s mother Edda Mellas, (because Lifetime must have a contract that stipulates that Marcia Gay Harden play the mother in every movie.) The movie is told from a pretty impartial point of view; Amanda Knox is never shown confessing to the murders, but her apathy reveals a darker side that the Italian police and media found so troubling. Via MuggleNet, it looks like Serbian actor Rade Serbedzija might be playing the role of Gregorovich. Remember, he’s the famous wand maker who first showed up in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; he supposedly had the powerful Elder Wand that Voldemort tortured him into revealing that no, he didn’t really have it (Gregorovich was then murdered; Harry saw this murder through his link into Voldemort’s mind).
