Kelly Clarkson Performs on Saturday Night Live - Video

American Idol season one winner, Kelly Clarkson, performed two songs off of her new album All I Ever Wanted during her appearance on Saturday Night Live yesterday. I have to say that, as a plus-size woman myself, I’m perfectly fine with Kelly’s weight but I do wish that she could find some more flattering clothing. This blue shirt/dress/disaster did not look good on her in my opinion but I digress…

Kelly first performed “My Life Would Suck Without You” and I thought she sounded pretty good but one of her backup singers seemed to be struggling a little bit from what I could hear.

She also sang “I Do Not Hook Up” and I really like that song and was happy that it translated well in the live performance. Watch and tell me what you think!

Kelly Clarkson Performs “My Life Would Suck Without You” on American Idol

The original American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, sang her new single “My Life Would Suck Without You” from her album All I Ever Wanted which was released yesterday. She wore all black which was pretty flattering but there was something missing in her eyes (in my opinion).

It was great to have her back on the show but, sometimes during the performance, she didn’t look like she wanted to be there. It was as if the personality would start to come out but then she would just kinda stand there and sing. Maybe it was nerves? Maybe it was my imagination? Anyway, the crowd seemed to really like it and that’s all that matters, right?

Kelly Clarkson Visits GMA, Regis and Kelly

Kelly Clarkson was on Good Morning America and Live with Regis and Kelly yesterday morning (photo below is of her arriving at the latter) where she promoted the release of her new album All I Ever Wanted and performed “My Life Would Suck Without You.”

Kelly Clarkson Denies Lesbian Rumors

I’ll admit that even I have wondered but the original American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, has denied rumors that she is a lesbian. She recently told PopEater.com: "I get that all the time. People are like, ‘Are you secretly a lesbian? Because I’d really love it.’ Lesbians tell it to me all the time. I’m like, ‘I’m glad it works for you and I wish I liked women like that because oftentimes men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys.’"

As if there was any doubt after what she already had said, she reiterated that she could “never be a lesbian” but the reason she gave was… interesting. She said that she would never want to date someone like herself since she’s a “crazy person.”

So, what is she saying – all women are crazy? I’m not offended or anything but I am confused. It got even more strange for me when Kelly said that even a gay guy would be fine when she was asked about who she envisions when she sings her new single, “My Life Would Suck Without You.” She said: "I need some kind of stable, quiet man. I don’t really care if you’re black, white, yellow, gay, straight, crazy, whatever," Kelly reveals. "As long as you’re cool and you like the music, and you’re coming out to have a good time at the shows, I don’t really care."

Wow. I hope it’s because she’s thinking of that song in a non-romantic way. Hasn’t she ever seen movies like The Object of My Affection? Jennifer Aniston’s character fell for her gay best friend (played by Paul Rudd) and, well… it didn’t exactly go well.

What do you think of Kelly Clarkson’s video for her new single “My Life Would Suck Without You.” I like the song (I don’t love it) and I think the video is pretty decent. It’s good to see her back in her element (she seems pretty comfortable in the clip). I hope that this is the start of a major comeback for Kelly. She’s got a lot of talent and, of course, represents the start of American Idol. Go Kelly!!

Kelly Clarkson’s New Album “All I Ever Wanted”

The title of American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson’s fourth album has finally been revealed. All I Ever Wanted has a release date of March 17, 2009 and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

I know that “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “If I Can’t Have You” are confirmed tracks but the rest is just speculation (kind of like when everyone was saying the album would be called Masquerade). There have been leaks published all over the place (listen to a 30 second snippet of “My Life…” on MJ’s Big Blog).

Have you heard any of the music yet? If so, what do you think? It’s kind of got a Pink meets old Kelly feel to it, in my opinion, but I only heard that little snippet so it’s hard to judge. I love the cover for that single, though (click to enlarge).

Is Kelly Clarkson The New “Comeback” Kid?

American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson, has had a tough time these past couple years. She seemed resentful of having had less control over her first albums and wanted to try to write her own songs and shape her own identity. She basically alienated and attacked the ones who had made her successful and, after her album My December failed to generate the kind of sales she was used to, she apologized for her behavior and ended up going on tour with Reba McEntire instead of releasing another album.

Now, she’s releasing a new single “My Life Would Suck Without You” next month and will be dropping a new album in March. What do you think? Are you looking forward to this new album?
