Celebrity Lookalikes: Eva Mendes Looks Just Like Amy Winehouse In Her New Film Holly Motors

This is Eva Mendes on the set of her latest film, a French drama called Holly Motors that’s shooting in (appropriately) Paris. The film is about a man who travels between parallel lives where he’s alternately a murderer, a CEO, and a monster. According to Wikipedia, Eva’s character is known simply as “an actress”; co-star Kylie Minogue gets the same billing.

But doesn’t Eva look a whole lot like deceased singer Amy Winehouse? Like, freakishly so—from the cat-eye makeup to the side-bang on her massive beehive. Even her costume resembles the singer’s eclectic fashion sense.

Judging from the resemblance and the Wiki credit, we wonder if Holly Motors is meant to be some sort of meta tale where we see a version of Winehouse. Maybe even one who lived? That’s probably taking it much further than the filmmakers intended, but it would be cool.

A photographer snapped this shot of Jason Bateman kissing costar Olivia Wilde while shooting The Longest Week in New York City. And I have to say, good for them!

One of my biggest complaints about The Change-Up was that Jason’s character never got to enjoy being stuck in Ryan Reynolds‘ body; he was so neutered by marriage that he wouldn’t even have a fling with his assistant, played by Olivia Wilde. What’s meant to be a redeeming moment comes off as disappointing.

Maybe that movie’s writers thought that no one would take seriously that an older, doofy guy like Jason could bag a hot young thing like Olivia. To which I say, this kiss is pretty hot.

So what is The Longest Week about, anyway? Jason plays rich man-child Conrad Valmont, who lives in his parents’ hotel and refuses to get a job. But of course, everything changes when he falls for his best friend’s girlfriend, played by Olivia. (We’re assuming that best friend is Billy Crudup, the next big name in the movie.) Deadline bills this as a comedy, though we’re hoping it’ll have a little more heft than Russell Brand‘s similar movie Arthur.

The Hunger Games Movie Stays True To The Book’s Crazy Hairstyles

Last week, Vanity Fair released a huge cast photo of Josh Hutcherson, Leven Rambin, and the other young “tributes” who fight to the death in The Hunger Games. And even though it was fantastic to see the movie’s main cast all together, we couldn’t help but miss the older actors who weren’t included: namely, Elizabeth Banks and Stanley Tucci, who play members of the series’ image-obsessed Capitol. If the Hunger Games themselves are a commentary on reality TV, then the Capitol is a commentary on plastic surgery and eternally youthful Hollywood.

But now we get some insights on the actors who got passed over last time—from InStyle, of all places! Usually, all news related to the Hunger Games movie is shrouded in secrecy, but the site got around that by interviewing the head of the hair department, Linda Flowers. For those of you who thought that the dystopian future wouldn’t require a lot of haircare, get ready for the statistics she breaks down.

In a single day, there would be 45 hairdressers working to transform the 3,000 extras into the strangely beautiful Capitol citizens: Decked out in bright colors, dyeing their hair or even their skin to match their outfits. This translates to 400 wigs that came in colors like dusty rose and chartreuse. Five hundred people got their eyebrows bleached, including Elizabeth Banks for her over-the-top character Effie Trinket. In total, Effie got three fabulous wigs: Green, pink, and lavender. (I would probably guess the one on the poster is in the lavender category, no?)

But Elizabeth isn’t the only one who got to have fun with her hair. Stanley Tucci plays Caesar Flickerman, the man who interviews each of the tributes before they go into the Games. A devotee of Capitol fashion, he’s known to change the color of his lips, hair, and eyelids to correspond with the colors for each year’s Games. According to Linda Flowers, the filmmakers basically kept the same color as in the books: Instead of powder-blue, Caesar’s wig was “a dark navy blue wig in a Karl Lagerfeld-style ponytail.” We’ll be interested to see what the makeup department does to match that.

By contrast, Jennifer Lawrence‘s hair seems like the easiest part of the hairdressers’ day: It took them only 20 minutes to give her Katniss Everdeen’s famous side braid.

We hadn’t heard of ScreenTeamMedia before today, but we gotta appreciate their extensive YouTube channel, which has interviews and behind-the-scenes clips from upcoming movies like In Time and The Avengers. But you know what most caught our attention? Their clips from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1.

While there are some standard interviews, STM was also allowed on-set and caught glimpses of three key moments in the movie.

The Honeymoon

Kristen Stewart looks like she’s shivering in the romantic waterfall on Bella and Edward’s honeymoon in Rio de Janiero. And how does Robert Pattinson‘s white makeup stay on in the water?

Angry, Shirtless Jacob

This is the utterly ridiculous moment that made me realize how much fun I was going to have at this movie’s midnight screening. Jacob’s reaction, upon receiving the invite to Bella’s nuptials, is to rip off his shirt and go wolf. From a moviemaking standpoint, it’s interesting to see the mobile camera racing away from him.

So now we know that we’ll be experiencing at least some of Bella’s delivery through her eyes, since in this clip we see Taylor Lautner and Robert talking into the camera. Also, their unemotional reaction shots at what must be the baby fighting its way out of her belly are amazing. Those will (hopefully) get added in later.

So yeah, each clip is maybe 15 seconds, but they still offer a fascinating look at how your Breaking Dawn sausage gets made.

SWAT Team Raids Brad Pitt’s World War Z Set

Here’s a story that starts out hilarious and gets ominous (but still bizarre) by the end: A SWAT team from Hungary’s Anti-Terrorism Unit raided a warehouse belonging to World War Z, Brad Pitt‘s zombie movie currently shooting in Budapest.

At first it sounds like some wacky misunderstanding, and you can’t help but envision a bunch of hardened SWAT guys standing there with prop guns going “Huh?” But here’s the twist: The weapons they confiscated were all in working order. The paperwork they came with said that they were non-functional.

Thank God these guys got the memo that a plane had entered Budapest transporting weapons, right? Otherwise there could’ve been an accident while shooting one of the movie’s many zombie-showdown sequences. The director and deputy director of the Anti-Terrorism Unit explained that this type of gun — they’re described as “automatic, military-style assault rifles” — are highly illegal to transport even if their purpose was to be a prop.

So you’ve got the issue of someone on the studio’s side not communicating about the guns being delivered, and the fact that real guns made their way to this movie set. Creepy, right?

But edging back to the bizarre, let’s talk about Brad Pitt’s reaction to the debacle, according to Us’ source: “The film is already over budget and over schedule. Brad is furious.” That quote is probably taken out of context, but it just makes it sound like Brad wants to forget this gun debacle and get back to shooting.

EW released the newest photos from The Brothers Grimm: Snow White – starring Lily Collins and Armie Hammer – today, and while they’re very pretty, we can’t tell who the intended audience is. Compared to Kristen Stewart‘s gritty reimagining Snow White and the Huntsman, this movie has bright colors and over-the-top costumes. So is it just a live-action version of the 1937 Disney movie, or will it have sly jokes for people our age? Let’s look through the photos and find out.

First Look: Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman Costume (With Ears!) In The Dark Knight Rises

I know we all had a lackluster reaction to the first shots of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman on the set of The Dark Knight Rises, but this image of her costume will satisfy all the naysayers: It’s tight leather; it’s functional (zipper) but sexy (heels). Most importantly, she has ears!

For the most part, fans’ initial reactions were annoyed—after all, the first we saw of Catwoman/Selina Kyle, she looked less like a cat burglar and more like a tech geek with weird goggles. News outlets have been reporting for a while now that when Catwoman pushes the goggles onto her head, they take on the shape of ears (in the form of the light doodads), but we finally have proof.

If you go to the source, you can see another photo of Anne (from the back—you’re welcome, male readers) while she’s getting touch-ups before her scene with Gary Oldman, who plays Commissioner Gordon.

Christopher Nolan‘s final Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises comes out July 20, 2012.

What does a ghostly Ryan Reynolds look like, you ask? Why, just about the same as the living one—that is to say, cute and brooding in leather. Here’s Ryan on the set of R.I.P.D., a buddy comedy based on the comic book of the same name. Ryan’s the newest member of the Rest In Peace Department, a police force that hunts down ghosts with unfinished business.

Ryan’s the guy who just got killed and is trying to get back to his wife; alongside him is the weird combo of Jeff Bridges as the seasoned ghost, but with Marisa Miller as his corporeal form that other people actually see. (Yes, Marisa Miller is playing Jeff Bridges.)

Filming only began recently; R.I.P.D. won’t be out until June 28, 2013.

Wouldn’t this pic work great with “Everybody Was Kung-Fu Fighting” playing behind it? Comic Book Movie caught these great photos and videos from the set of The Avengers in Cleveland, OH. That’s Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Captain America (Chris Evans) goofing around while setting up a big fight scene with some strange ninjas. Check out the video that CBM got showing the whole process behind the fight: The Chrises going over their blows and punches without, and then with, their famous props — Cap’s shield and Thor’s hammer — and then finally acting out the scene against the ninjas.
