It has been nine months since the Carl’s Jr. spot first aired Paris Hilton’s TV commercial in which the celebrity washed a car in a tiny swimsuit while chomping a big burger has achieved pop-culture’s second life: parodies.

According to Andrew Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurant,
“That ad has become as much a part of popular culture as the Energizer Bunny.” Puzder says the ads attracted about $25 million in free media coverage. That’s more than three times the $8 million that Carl’s and Hardee’s paid for air time. And, he says, Hardee’s, which had a slight dip in same-store sales in 2005, posted sales growth during the eight weeks the ad aired.

And now this: free Paris parodies.

•In film. A parody of the steamy spot is featured in the film Date Movie in a scene where a guy imagines his ex-girlfriend in the Carl’s Jr. ad. The scene, with actress Sophie Monk, is in slow motion.

In a TV ad for the film, the girl gobbles a bite of burger, then rubs it over her body. “Can a hot girl really sell burgers?” a voice asks. “I don’t know. But now I want to do naughty things with a cow.”

•On the Web. After the Paris ad hit, John Younger, CEO of recruiting firm Accolo, had an idea: a what-if parody Web ad that instead of a sexy woman substituted a fat, bearded guy as the swimsuit-wearing car washer.

The ad ends with this tagline: “Hiring the right person makes all the difference.”

The ad, filmed for less than $25,000, had 80,000 downloads by the fourth day. “This wasn’t sleazy,” Younger says. “It highlighted what’s core to our business.”

•On TV. An ad for the 2005 Sony film Deuce Bigalow, European Gigolo put Rob Schneider in Paris’ stiletto heels. Co-star Eddie Griffin utters, “That is so not hot.”

The Simple Life 4 Begins Filming

Former best mates, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie have begun filming the 4th season of The Simple Life. The producers have decided to separate the pair.

Our mole reports that when Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie reported on their first day of work, the stars steered clear of each other throughout the day (what a shame!)

This season, which will air on cable’s E! Entertainment Network, will see Hilton and Richie living in a variety of homes separately. The two will assume the head-of-household position in each home and the families will decide which one did a better job.

Persoanlly, I feel for the two. It is really a shame that they had a falling out. They were childhood best friends for goodness’ sake. You can’t get better than that for a lifelong friend. It’s really sad.

Paris Hilton claims she is as good as Charlize Theron — THE Charlize Theron who is an Oscar winner. This I’ve got to see!

Tonight.co.za reports that

The sexy socialite insists she is easily as talented as the screen beauty, who won the Best Actress prize for her performance in ‘Monster’, and says the pair will soon be competing for the same roles.

She said: “My acting coach told me I have a similar style of acting to her so we may end up vying for the same parts.”

However, the blonde beauty failed to set the box office alight with her first big screen outing, the teen-horror movie, ‘House Of Wax’, which flopped.

Dream on, Paris! Why not? Dreams are free!

Surely Nicole Richie is still not grieving over her falling out with former best friend and co-star, Paris Hilton. Why is she in tears???

I assume Paris Hilton’s parents were bored and decided to splash out and bought 50% stake in London (or perhaps to remind Paris that London is in the UK?) club “The Collection” as a little pressie for Paris.

Or perhaps they were hoping that this present would inspire her to be more interested in business instead.

A source told the Daily Mirror:

“This is just the start for Paris, and her family would like her to make more investments in London bars. She has the looks and personality to move their success into another arena as the bar industry is huge.”

$20Million for Paris Hilton's diaries

David Hans Scmidt, a broker known for handling shady deals is auctioning off the socialite’s belongings. They include 18 diaries in which Hilton recounts past sexual dalliances, celebrity encounters and other adventures. Also included are photographs of Hilton at “wild parties” on yachts and in private homes, as well as her computers, clothing, videos and furniture.

Paris Hilton was “incredibly upset and angry” and felt “victimized” when she found out about the sale according to her publicist, Elliot Mintz. Hilton’s lawyers are threatening a lawsuit (surprise, surprise) against anyone in possession of the items.

The pricetag? $20 million. Who would pay for that much just to get their hands on Paris Hilton’s treasures? Surely, no one’s personal effect is worth that much unless they’re dead!

Schmidt declined to describe the diaries’ contents, but said they include:

“everything that would be dear to a woman’s heart — relationships, personal feelings, sex, love, breakups, sexual experiences — all those little things that make up a little girl’s life. Her deepest, darkest secrets.”

Oh dear.
