We’ve noticed that actress Amanda Bynes uses her Twitter account frequently to post YouTube links of the latest songs she’s been listening to, so we decided to compile the last 15 into a Twitter playlist — Amanda’s commentary included. As many of you know, the infamous JellyNYC summer Pool Parties were yet again in danger of not happening. Last summer the mostly free concert series were in danger of being discontinued after the venue they had been taking place for 3 years, McCarren Park Pool, was going to be under going construction to become a functioning pool again. First Celebrate Brooklyn Show Announced: Passion Pit

Even though it’s freezing, concert promoters are already gearing up for summer shows. The first of the summer park shows has been announced: Passion Pit will be playing a Celebrate Brooklyn benefit (read: it’s not free) at Prospect Park on June 29. Tokyo Police Club are “very special guests.”

Rural Alberta Advantage Played Mercury Lounge

Alberta, Canada’s Rural Alberta Advantage was in town and played MAxwell’s Thursday night, opened for Passion Pit at Terminal 5 on Friday night, and then played two headlining shows at Mercury Lounge on Saturday night: one early and one late. Their debut album Hometowns was one of my favorites of 2009 and I’ve been waiting to see them live for months.

Chuck Berry is at B.B. Kings at 8 pm and 11 pm.Tickets are $98.

I had the privilege of seeing Cambridge, MA boys Passion Pit at Glasslands on Saturday night. While they still only have 6 songs to play, they reported that they are currently working on recording their full length album, due next year on French Kiss.
