American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, has a lot to say lately. It seems like every day there’s some new quote or interview that sheds some small light into her life. She has definitely had her share of struggles over the years, but she is trying to put a positive spin on it all.

In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, Paula had the following to say:

“I was premature at birth. I weighed two pounds, three ounces. When I came home from the hospital the doctor said I was one of the bravest babies he’d ever seen. I’ve made a career of falling on my ass or falling on my face and getting up again.”

American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, has told People magazine that she is “deeply hurt” by her recent phone call being leaked to the media.

Paula said, “Look at me, I’m okay, really I am. I’m doing just fine and don’t have to explain myself to anyone. It hurts. The leak, that’s illegal. That was a private conversation. That was a violation of my privacy and totally illegal.”

Even though she says, on the taped conversation, that she has Addison’s disease, she is now recanting that claim. “I haven’t been diagnosed with it. I’m just exhausted. Sometimes I have really low blood sugar levels. It’s all because I work very hard, that’s it. When you work as hard as I do, you become exhausted. That’s what happens. I’m working on five different projects right now. And now people are saying I have Addison’s. I’m tired.”

“I’m not happy about that phone call being leaked. That’s illegal. I love my fans, they mean so much to me. I’m doing fine. I’m a fighter.”

Paula Abdul loves her pet chihuahua, Tulip, so much that she sacrificed herself to avoid hurting the dog. Apparently, the pup narrowly escaped being stepped on but this near-miss ended with Paula tripping and breaking her nose on Saturday.

The ever-dedicated American Idol judge will not miss the last two shows of the season. Her rep, David Brokaw said that “she went to the doctor and she did break her nose, but she’s moving on and doing great. She looks terrific. If you didn’t know she broke her nose, you’d never guess anything happened to her… She is in pain. No question about that, but she’s standing 10 feet from me and you’d never know anything happened to her. There are no bandages. She’s got some bruises on her arms and on one of her legs.”

Her dog was unharmed. Paula told People magazine that “[Tulip] has no remorse. She just stared at me.”

“I have to be honest about Simon,” Abdul said yesterday. “There’s the times when he’s like a big brother – or a lover. He was extremely distraught and protective and supportive of me when that happened.”

Abdul was accused of an inappropriate relationship with a contestant from the show’s second season, though an investigation by the network cleared her of any wrongdoing. Still, producers of the hit show reportedly discussed replacing her because of the bad publicity. But it was Cowell – who has a famously cat-and-dog relationship with Paula – who stepped up for her, she says.

I got the story from A Socialite’s Life, and they don’t like the “lover” remark. They think it means there may be some other scandal happening on set of the great talent reality show.

I’m down with this story until the “lover” part. I get it that he was in your corner. And when you’re describing that kind of sitch, you usually say “brother” or “we’re like family”. But “lover” implies he’s giving it to you. So either Paula is very very high still or there’s another scandal over at American Idol that needs to be uncovered. Stat.

I don’t think there’s anything like that going on at all. I understood what she meant, people who are romantically attached to each other are normally very protective of each other so the comment makes sense to me.
