A new e-book published by addiction recovery site The Fix contains many never-before-seen stories about Courtney Love‘s life and struggles with addiction, many of them told directly to the author by Courtney herself. The author also obtained court documents from Frances Bean Cobain‘s restraining order proceedings, and they don’t paint a pretty picture of Courtney as a parent. More »
Can anyone explain the concept of Halloween costumes for pets to me? Because I have tried– believe you me, I have tried– but I just. don’t. get them. Sure, humans may think they look cute, but somehow, I just can’t get beyond the fact that pet costumes are, in actuality, a cruel and unusual punishment that should only be reserved for the most drastic of occasions. This is why I have trouble dealing with these 11 pet costumes. Is it just me? Or does anyone else find them somewhat questionable, too? Please tell me I’m not alone here… More »
Pets are wonderful. They bring their owners so much joy, and for years reports have been coming out saying that having pets reduces your stress and blood pressure and generally causes you to live longer. But what those reports fail to include is the indirect result of pets on pet owners’ roommates. Sure, in many cases having a kitty or cute dog around is a welcome distraction from the fact that your roommate hasn’t done the dishes in over a month, and sometimes your roommate’s pet is the thing you actually like most about living with her. But other times, not so much. Especially when barf is involved. More »
Everybody loves pets, even pets themselves! And is there anything more darling than an animal with an even little animal of its own? No, definitely not – the animals in this gallery are the cutest.

This chart is very useful for deciding which animals make good pets. For example, adopting a firefly will just lead to heartbreak, but a hippopotamus will live for forty years! Also, um, I thought dogs lived forever… More »
If You Feel Like Crying the Rest of the Day – Then read the story of Spot, the Texas dog that waits by the same stretch of road every day, waiting to be picked up by his owner. Who died. It’s like Seymour from Futurama! I have to go cry now… (Lemondrop)
Have you guys been checking out our sister site Blisstree? Not only is it a one-stop shop for women’s health and nutrition, but also for weird costumes for you and your pet! Please, do not buy these. But definitely take a look at them, and the other top posts from Blisstree this week.

I attended Adoptapalooza’s pet fashion show last weekend, an event held during Fashion Week to encourage folks to take home rescued animals. I arrived early and had to time to check out the scene before the show started (and to pet a few doggies). Pups were wandering around wearing little vests saying “Adopt Me” and a truck bearing 50 caged kittens meowing in unison broke my heart. More »
Glee actress Lea Michelle is a triple-threat with a heart of gold. The star of stage and screen has a habit of rescuing stray animals and gifting them to her costars. Cheerleader-playing actress Heather Morris got a kitten and Harry Shum, who has a supporting role as Mike Chang, received a dog abandoned near the Glee set. We came up with some other pets Lea should be on the lookout for as castmate gifts. More »

Haylie Duff is enjoying the gorgeous summer weather in California. On Tuesday, Haylie was seen going for a run with her dog at Runyon Canyon.
Haylie, who recently started on Twitter under the name HaylieK (she should contact twitter to get her full name from the poser!), says that she was hiking with her friend Allessandra and that the little dog is named Rocco.

Hilary Duff spent some time at the veterinarian this week! First, Hilary Duff picked up her cat Mouse from the Sherman Oaks Veterinary Hospital. The next day, Hilary returned to the vet with 2 of her dogs, Lola and the new dog, Dubois, to be boarded. Hilary told the paparazzi that she was going out of town for a while so her dogs were being taken care of there. I guess the rest of her pets stayed at home!

Hilary Duff was spotted out in Toluca Lake on Friday running some errands. One of those errands including heading over to Puppy Day Care to pick up this dog, and rumor has it that Hilary Duff has added a new dog to her family!
This one is just a little bit bigger than Jack & Lola, hey? But still very cute! Hilary seemed to be enamored with the dog, hugging it and letting it lick her face.
She took the… More »
In Hilary Duff’s last blog post, which went up , Hilary Duff mentioned that her little cat Gloomy had hurt himself. She didn’t mention how, but that she had been nursing him back to health. Hilary posted a new update today to her blog with an update on how he was doing. Hilary says he’s doing “a lot better” and they built him a little kitty condo too. She shared some photos of him in there with Hilary.
BTW, Hilary… More »
Hilary Duff was spotted out in LA today at Maxwell Dog, a specialty store for dogs in Studio City. Hilary picked up a number of fluffy toys for her beloved dogs – perhaps as Christmas presents. I think Hilary would totally be the kind of pet-mommy who would give gifts, don’t you? The store seems to also carry stuff for cats, as Hilary was there picking out some little toys for her cats too.
