There was no doubt that people were flocking to the theaters this weekend to check out Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds on its opening run – the movie topped the box office results with a whopping $37,602,000 gross.
It was the highest-grossing domestic opening for any of Quentin Tarantino’s movies to date. Speculation is partly that Brad Pitt’s appearance in the film brought in an additional demographic that doesn’t necessarily see Tarantino films under normal circumstances.

I love Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (obviously!) and I love to read or hear what they have to say about their movies, their activism, their family, and each other. However, I think one of my favorite things is to hear what others in the business say about them. I find it very telling that despite what the non-fans and tabloids want to say, a great deal of people in the world of Hollywood have very positive things… More »
The photocall for Inglourious Basterds is well under way in Berlin at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski, and Brad Pitt looks pretty pumped up about it! The cast and Quentin Tarantino all look pretty happy, actually!
The official red carpet event should be up soon, but in the meantime enjoy the photocall photos. I really love Diane Kruger’s mini-dress, it’s so vibrant!

Have you seen the second trailer for Inglourious Basterds yet? If not, please, do watch it now. I’ll wait.
All I can say is WOW. It’s so clearly identifiable as a Quentin Tarantino movie. Obviously this isn’t going to be a film for everyone. You can tell from that brief clip with the baseball bat that the film is going to
earn a tough rating from the review board!
It’s definitely a violent movie but considering… More »
It’s a busy day for Brad Pitt in Cannes today. He’s already attended the official photocall for Inglourious Basterds along with cast and crew including Quentin Tarantino, Diane Kruger, Christoph Waltz, Mike Myers, Daniel Bruhl, Elii Roth, Melanie Laurent, Lawrence Bender, and Michael Fassbender.
Brad looks really cool and sexy in his crisp white suit and shades – I’m LOVING the look! He’s cited as wearing Tom Ford as usual, as well as a gray ascot around his… More »
Who else is excited for this time next week? The Cannes Film Festival kicks into gear soon and Inglourious Basterds is set to debut on May 20th as part of the competition. This is excellent news for PittWatch people!
If the movie starts on the 20th, that means there’s a good chance that we’ll see photos of Brad Pitt arriving at Cannes as early as the 19th. Then we know we’ll get two sets of photos on the… More »
Last night during American Idol a new clip feature was shown, where we got to see some more of Inglourious Basterds. Quentin Tarantino was the special guest on the show last night, so it all tied in.
Check it out! Looks like we can definitely expect plenty of typically Tarantino-esque violence, and while I get upset by violence in the real world I sure do love to see it on the big silver screen!
I am so envious of all… More »
Here’s some excellent news! Brad Pitt will be back in Cannes this year to debut Inglourious Basterds!
The film festival runs from May 13-24 this year. Quentin Tarantino received the invitation and happily accepted, also entering the film into the competition. We won’t be able to see the movie until its official public release on August 21st, but I don’t mind since this means we’ll get to see Brad on the red carpet again, and since it’s so… More »
E! Online is reporting that Quentin Tarantino’s WWII flick Inglourious Basterds has finally been issued an official release date. The Brad Pitt film will be out in theaters on August 21st. That’s a good date, I think. A lot of the big summer blockbusters tend to come out in late June and July, leaving August a bit on the empty side. Having a huge movie to look forward to later in the summer is perfect!
