I’ve always thought Peanuts was on the verge of being too sad to be watched by children, and this adds to my pile of proof. As it turns out, the kids’ cartoon syncs up perfectly with Radiohead‘s anthem to alienation, “Creep.” More »
I know I’m in the very tiny minority here, but I just don’t love Radiohead. I find them kind of soggy and toothless and boring — them cats just ain’t my thing. I understand I’m wrong though, that the band is Jesus and can do no wrong, so therefore I am the devil and have been sent here to destroy your happiness or at least get into a mutually-indignant and ultimately futile argument with you at a birthday party. That being said, I think these two unreleased tracks from the band’s high school era days are rather impressive, especially from a group of teenagers. More »
Blake Lively must not be too sad about breaking up with Leonardo DiCaprio, because she was spotted in Boston this weekend hanging out with her Green Lantern co-star Ryan Reynolds, who’s currently shooting R.I.P.D. there. More »
There’s this protest going on in New York City’s Financial District called Occupy Wall Street. Ask anyone in the city, and you’ll hear different explanations for what people are actually protesting: banks, a culture of greed, corporations. They’ve been at it for nearly two weeks, and have inspired copycat protests in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. But there’s one thing that the original group has that the others don’t: Rumor has it that Radiohead will play a surprise concert downtown today at 4 p.m. More »
Alicen Schneider is the Head of TV Music – Creative for NBC Universal Television; her most recent projects include NBC’s upcoming Grimm, USA’s Royal Pains, and Syfy’s Being Human. In between making playlists and burning mixes, she shared with me the scoop on the perks of her gig, what it means to music supervise, and the perfect song for wooing a cute boy. More »
Folk? Jazz? Electronica? You name it (well, except country), and Radiohead has experimented with it. This infographic breaks it down in a pretty way. More »
Thom Yorke is a single lady. We still believe Thom Yorke from Radiohead is King of Limbs, but someone has brilliantly set his “Lotus Flower” dance moves to the beat of Beyonce‘s “Single Ladies.” (buzzfeed)
In case you haven’t heard, Radiohead has a new album out today. It’s called The King of Limbs. And as if to demonstrate the literalness of the album, the first video out features lead singer Thom Yorke vigorously dancing around in a bowler hate.
We’re almost with Ultragrrl, who says that this video is what you would get if you mixed the aesthetics of Black Swan with A Clockwork Orange. But it seems more likely that Thom Yorke is the King of Limbs and we must all bow our appendages to him now in homage. No? More »
Mike Judge‘s seminal 90s cartoon about dillholes, Beavis and Butt-Head, is returning to MTV. Even though we’re girls and are supposed to like Daria waaaay more, this development is super exciting. Imagine what these two could do to Katy Perry or Rihanna videos!
At the same time, we have some reservations. After all, that “making fun of the tv” thing seems so 90s (Mystery Science Theatre, anyone?). Plus, could anything ever top the brilliant yet inane analyses of these two dumbasses during the show’s first run? More »
Props to Bobby Miller and Rated Awesome for creating the first genuinely entertaining parody for the Facebook film, The Social Network. I mean, it’s a pretty easy target to take something like Facebook and apply it to YouTube, MySpace, etc…but adding a fake chorus to Radiohead’s “Creep” to mimic the latest SN trailer makes this a double-plus good viral video. Now, let me go put it on my Facebook page.

When talking to a band called the Liars, how do you know if anything they say is true? At first glance, the band may come off as just the type to pose such a cynical question: Coming from an eco-friendly tour with Radiohead, the post-punk/noise group released their 3rd album, Sisterworld, which frontman Angus Andrews refers to as a sort an antidote to what he describes as “positivity as a crippling addiction.” So no, these guys are not huge fans… More »
This video of a 13-year-old Ke$ha singing Radiohead’s “Karma Police” in a middle school talent show isn’t as embarrassing as it could’ve been, but — wow. We can hardly believe the girl who wears zebra-print jumpsuits and rap-sings “Tik Tok” was once this shy teenager.
