A new website, blockyourex.com, gives you the opportunity to completely erase your ex from your life. According to Betty Confidential, it’s a “website where you can download software that keeps you from using the Internet with bad intentions. Available for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari, this free download allows you to block an ex’s Facebook, Twitter, and blog from opening on your computer. Even better, if you type in his/her name in a search engine, it won’t show you any results that have to do with your past flame. You can add as many exes as you like. So far, over 12,000 have utilized the service.”

This seems way too final for me. What if your hear through the grapevine that your ex broke up with his new girlfriend? Don’t you want to know what he’s up to, just out of curiosity? Personally, I really don’t delete anyone on Facebook. Even if it’s someone I now dislike, I still want to keep tabs on him or her. What do you guys think?

5 Tips For Your College Sex Life That Are More Important Than Blowjobs

Sex shop Babeland is holding a New York seminar this month called “Oral Sex Tips for College Students.” Which is just confusing to us. Do college kids need different blowjob tips? Also, why is this so age-specific? Is there a special kind of BJ you can only give if you live in a dorm room? Maybe the description will clear things up:

We’ll give you cunnilingus and fellatio tips to ensure that your partner gives you an A+ on your Valentine’s Day oral exam. Pick up tips to keep things slippery, and tricks to coordinate your hand and mouth techniques.

Oh, A+, oral exam…just like in college! Now we get it. Still, we think there are much more sex tips that are more applicable to college students than “give good head.” Like:

• Never have sex in your roommate’s bed. Or switch your sheets with your roommate after you have sex on your own bed. We don’ know how, but they’ll always find out.

• Having sex with your RA is a bad idea. Having sex with your RA’s ex-boyfriend is an even worse one, because it leads to really scary, passive-aggressive notes written on your door’s dry-erase board. Also, these people have the authority to call the dean and rat you out for smoking pot in your room. Also? They might be crazy (your RA, not her ex) and you’ll end up having to talk her down after she starts cutting large bald spots in her hair in the coed bathroom because “No one will ever find her attractive anymore so why even bother.” (This is just common RA stuff you need to know, and not in any way based on a traumatic freshman year experience I had.)

• You have to have sex in the library stacks during finals if you want to graduate. Dems da rules.

• Despite what you may have learned from Saved By the Bell: The College Years, you still might not be allowed to have sex with a professor even if you drop his class. Not fair! But sometimes you are. So check your student guidebook before asking for “extra credit” from your intense-yet-vulnerable “Godard and Cinema” teacher.

• Art kids can be as big of gossipy douchebags as their frat boy cousins. Just because he cuts himself for his art doesn’t mean he won’t tell your entire class that you like anal. Ok. You’ve been warned!

(Lost in Translation is our weekly column from a college guy’s perspective.)
I had a crummy weekend. And a shittier Sunday. Which just rubs me the wrong way. I’m from the Midwest, and Sundays are meant to be spent watching football at your favorite bar after having brunch at the local hotspot near the church you went to for sermon. They’re supposed to be restful – a long, slow afternoon of a day, the kind that leaves you smiling as you nod off in the early evening with Iron & Wine on repeat and the rich aroma of the morning coffee still lingering in the air.

They’re sure as hell not for wallowing in self-pity, laying half-awake in damn itchy sheets as the sun creeps in through the bamboo blinds that you bought to feel more “organic.” And, yet, that was the beginning of my Sunday. I may have had 15 minutes, possibly an hour or two, I really don’t know, of sleep before I wrestled myself out of bed and limped my way across the unswept floor of my studio efficiency into the shower, the lukewarm water stinging my achy joints. The rest of the day was a struggle between me and heavy exhaustion yanking down on my body, standing in the way between me and, well, anything pleasant.

I was annoyed. The night before this great girl (“great” falls well short for her, as she is beyond great, but I only have a handful of words and it tends to fit in here) I have been seeing for a few weeks, maybe a month, texts me to meet her at a bar. I am down the street at another one, but am more than happy, in fact eager to leave the group of friends I went out with to walk the two blocks to her. The moment I arrive, she reaches for my hand and whispers, let’s go. Inside I’m grinning a grin that stretches ear to ear – a Chelsea grin without the knife. Outside, I’m keeping it cool. I nod and we leave.

We jump in a cab and are on the way back to her apartment when she fills in the silence in the worst possible way – by telling me that I should enjoy my youth, spend more time with people my age and less time with her. Now, we ARE a few years apart, she being older, but…

WHAT?

How is that supposed to make me feel? Good? All warm and fuzzy inside? What the fuck does that mean? Apparently these thoughts that are raging in my head were seeping out through my facial expressions, ‘cause she begins telling me she meant it this way and not that.

Slowing down, the taxi pulls up to her apartment complex, and I sit back on my haunches, ready for a cordial embrace and for her to offer me the “we’re friends” look as she hops out, which would suck, but would give me a clean break.

But, no. Life isn’t that easy. She then has the gall to invite me up. That is when my mind went blank. A sterile white. Next thing I remember is lying in my own bed, heart racing, as I sorted through a clusterfuck of emotion.

I probably overreacted. But where the hell did clarity go? Tossed out the window apparently.

She is amazing. It wouldn’t be an issue if she wasn’t. I haven’t felt this way about a girl for quite some time. Which makes this all downright devastating. I obviously prefer to be more than friends and continue as it is, or as I thought it was, but I need to know that that is how she feels. Don’t lead me on with late night texts and intimate affection if you see me as a younger brother. That’s just creepy.

Internal Office Debate: Is It Snobby Not To Wear Makeup?

The gals over at The Frisky polled amongst themselves to see how long they’d go in a relationship before they’d let a guy see their true colors. No, not the way you get when you’re super P.M.S.-y and yelling at some poor barista for getting your order wrong at Starbucks: This article is all about the makeup, folks. From editor Amelia Perry who said she goes out without a full face of cosmetics on dates because “cause, duh, they sleep over and I wake up without it on!” to commenters who claimed that not wearing makeup was some sort of holier-than-thou statement, the responses were across the board. And here at Crushable, we found ourselves on opposite sides of the spectrum as well.

Me: I’m not trying to make a statement when I leave the house without makeup, and certainly not any kind of in-your-face (no pun intended) “take me for who I am, zits and all” sort of sentiment … I just never really taught myself how to do quick makeup procedures. Like, I don’t even know how to put on cover-up without it looking fake. I can do eyeliner (liquid only), eyeshadow (that usually ends up looking like a drag queen’s), and lipstick. That’s it, that’s my entire face routine. And that’s me getting dolled up for a guy … though I don’t worry so much about him seeing my bare face in the morning, seeing as I usually forget to wash off the makeup from the night before. Now, tell me that’s not worse than just going au naturale?

Erin: My college friend had a term for women who eschewed makeup, at all times: No Makeup Girls. We simply did not understand the Chapstick-only beauty regimen; the bare faces translated to an overall unfussy, earthy style that I admired but would never, ever try for myself. I’ve always loved lipstick and eyeshadow and mascara; I wear it every day, not so much that it’s too too, but just because I value putting my best face forward. It’s not for men. It’s not for women. It’s for me. Makeup is a pick-me-up, and lifts my mood. A perfect ending to a bad day? A mental-health trip to Sephora. To the cosmetics-free snobs I say, live a little!
