American Idol Ruben Studdard Dropped By Label
SOHH is reporting that American Idol winner, Ruben Studdard, has been dropped by J Records. Merry Christmas – ouch! "Studdard’s first J Record release Soulful, released in 2003, is RIAA certified platinum. His 2004 gospel follow up, I Need An Angel also fared well – reaching gold status. Idol Album Sales – November 29, 2007
I got my hands on these stats yesterday so they are valid as of November 28, 2007. I think that they provide a pretty interesting look at Jordin Sparks’ first week as well as at how some of the other former American Idol contestants are doing. Idol Sales – October 31, 2007
With last week’s release of both “Carnival Ride” (Carrie Underwood) and “See the Light” (Bo Bice), I was interested in the Idol sales. Luckily, I found some stats on USA Today.
I’ll probably not be around for the rest of the night since it’s Halloween and I’ve got three kids. We’re making a spider cake and watching scary movies.

College Loses $31,000 on Ruben Studdard Concert
OUCH!!!!! Calhoun Community College put on their first big concert and it ended up losing them $31,175. The school spent $34,025 for the show featuring former American Idol Ruben Studdard as part of its 60th anniversary celebration. The costs included paying talent and staging the concert.
But the Sept. 27 concert only collected $2,850 from ticket sales and sponsorships. About 300 people attended. A thunderstorm before the concert, held on the Health-Science building’s front lawn, hurt the walk-up crowd.

Clay and Ruben to Narrate American Idol Rewind
Attention all Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard fans! Saturday marks the premiere of American Idol Rewind and this year they will be showcasing Season 2 of American Idol. Of course you probably know that Season 2 came down to Clay and Ruben and Ruben won in, what I think, is the most controversial finale Idol has ever had.

It’s terrible but with all the excitement over the Canadian Idol finale, I forgot to wish Ruben Studdard and Jennifer Hudson a happy birthday. Both were born on September 12th (1978 for Ruben and 1981 for Jennifer).

Ruben Studdard to Open Club
American Idol champ, Ruben Studdard, will be opening a club in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. There was an announcement yesterday stating the fact that Ruben has a deal with Performa Entertainment Real Estate. I think the establishment is going to be called “Ruben’s Club 205.” Performa is also in negotiations to open a club with Taylor Hicks.

American Idol season 2 winner, Ruben Studdard, was recently at an event at the Georgia Aquarium (please, no jokes about Ruben being the size of something at the aquarium!!!). Here’s the story:

This Week in American Idol Album Sales
Chris Daughtry continues to reign supreme, jumping up two spots on the charts. He moved 49,000 units bringing total sales up to 2.36 million.
Carrie Underwood comes in second with 44,000 sold brining her total sales up to a whopping 5.33 milion total,
Bucky Covington continues to do well, selling 23,000 copies of his album this week, bringing the total to 84,000 after almost 3 weeks.
