We learned from the spoiler mill back in December that Jason George would be joining the Seattle Grace team as a hot anesthesiologist with whom Bailey would likely have a fling. As it turns out, this “fling” episode is precisely the one that Chandra Wilson has been called upon (or volunteered!) to direct.

As we learned in prior spoilers, the relationship is not bound to be a love at first sight kind of thing and might involve some tension at first, but eventually evolves into something else.

According to TVGuide, the episode is “steamy, with lots of romance and kissing scenes.” Anyone wanna trade with Chandra Wilson for a day?

Look for this episode sometime next month.

**Spoilers ahead!**

So a while back, we learned from dear Shonda Rhimes that one of the leading ladies on Grey’s Anatomy would be changing her hair color for the Valentine’s Day episode. She was kind enough to narrow it down to Meredith, Lexie or Callie. And now with the V-Day epiode right around the corner, the answer has been revealed at last. You can go back to the original article on the subject to check out everyone’s guesses.

The correct answer? Lexie! Little Grey is going blonde. And you can check out a picture of her looking very blonde at e!online (you may have to click forward or backwards in the slideshow).

If you notice another of the stills posted there you’ll see that Mercy Wester April (Sarah Drew) seems to be back in scrubs. Looks like perhaps new-Chief Derek has been hiring back some of the fired doctors. At least, that’s my guess.

But back to Mark and Lexie … will they ever get back together? The news so far is pretty vague on the matter. According to Fancast: “Those two sure hit the skids fast and hard, huh? Can Mark ever look at his girlfriend the same again? I’m going to say no … if only because she won’t be looking the same much longer.” The latter refers, of course, to the new hair color. But what can we infer from the answer? Not a whole lot. I figure Mark and Lexie will be circling each other for the next few episodes before anything concrete happens between the two. But I could be wrong about that.

It looks like Bailey will also appear in the flashbacks. Young, intern Bailey, in her pre-Nazi days, when she was the one being terrorized by her supervisors! Her hellish supervisor will be played by Missi Pyle, whom you might recognize from many things including Heroes, Pushing Daisies, Boston Legal, and other stuff.

“We’re going to see Bailey when she still called herself Mandy and had not yet learned to speak up,” explains series creator Shonda Rhimes, adding that the first time she laid eyes on Chandra Wilson “all Mandy’d up,” her heart broke. “I know that girl — hell, I was that girl. Mandy is Bailey’s inner geek, and Chandra plays the Mandy of it all brilliantly.”

How awesome is this going to be? I can’t wait to see watch this. Who else is excited about … Mandy?

According to Kevin McKidd, “Derek feels like he’s kind of in a vacuum, and he needs another set of eyes on the problem. Sometimes you need an outside view to determine if you’re on the right track or not, and Owen provides Derek that service in a way.” Let’s hope the war vet can set McDreamy on the right path back to happy MerDer time. Though as we know from Shonda Rhimes, happiness makes for boring television, so expect the drama to be both ever-going and ever-changing.

In other news, McKidd dropped another (albeit vague) whopper with regards to the January 14 episode: “In the next couple of episodes there are some pretty explosive things that happen. Almost straight out of the gate, big things happen.”

If you watch the now-canceled Eastwick you’ll undoubtedly recognize George as journalist hottie Max Brody. On Grey’s Anatomy he’ll be playing an anesthesiologist named Ben Warren who wins Bailey’s heart.

“We’re excited that Dr. Bailey’s going ot be getting a little bit of loving,” Rhimes told TV Guide. “When we first read her pages with Jason in the read-thru, all our actors went, ‘Oooo.’ It’s really cute to see Bailey get some attention.” It’s also about time that Bailey got some cheerful news.

Don’t expect the romance to be love at first sight, though. It seems that Bailey and Warren don’t necessarily get along right off the bat. But Bailey “learns” to like him.

There’s no word on whether Jason George might become a permanent fixture in Seattle Grace, though it sounds like the option is there somewhere depending on how things pan out for the couple.

Look for this storyline sometime in mid-February. Happy early Valentines’!

As we know, the Chief has an alcoholism problem that will likely only get worse before it gets better. Perhaps episode 6.15 will shed some light on Richard’s demons and maybe throw a big twist our way?

We can only wait and see.

According to TV Guide, our dear Cristina will be faced with a decision that might impact one or two of the following: her future and/or a close relationship.

It’s unclear whether the “relationship” is romantic or a close friendship. Since they already did the Cristina/Meredith friendship rift last season, I hope they don’t go down that route again. Odds are that whatever happens will be between Cristina and Owen.

But what could it be? What kind of decision? Since it might affect “her future,” it’s likely that the decision will be medicine-related. And for something to potentially damage Cristina’s medical career, it’s gotta be something huge.

Then again, it’s all conjecture until the episode airs. What are your theories?

Shonda Rhimes

Grey’s Anatomy returns brand new on January 14 with an episode said to be called “Blink.” According to Rhimes, the January 14 episode is the real crossover. If you’re expecting a crossover episode on January 21, edit your calendar notes.

To the question, “So we are not going to have another crossover after the one on January 14th?” Shonda Rhimes replied, “I have been toying with the idea but have not decided yet.”

When asked, “Why did Michael Ausiello say that the crossover event between GA/PP is on Jan 21?” Shonda Rhimes said, “Umm…cuz he is WRONG.”

The January 21 episode is said to be called “I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked.”

Regarding news of the crossover episode, Ausiello does say that during this episode there will be a lot of “knocking boots.” Guess the on-call room is going to be seeing heavy traffic.

Ausiello also dropped some bad news for Mark/Lexie fans. It seems there’s gonna be some two-timing in his future. Ausiello said it would be during the “January 21 crossover” but since we know from Shonda Rhimes that there is no January 21 crossover, then we can only assume that his cheating ways will hit our screens either on the January 14 crossover or on the January 21 episode.

I’m not sure who’s been saying that it might be Meredith (she would’ve never occurred to me as an option), but some have, and that’s led to lots of freaking out and general spazzing and hair-pulling. So you can stop the tantrums now, it’s not Meredith. And for those of you concerned that Callie’s romance with Arizona will hit a brick wall when she catches Alex’s wandering eyes, worry not. It’s also not Callie. Or Arizona for that matter.

In fact, Jessica Capshaw revealed that things with Callie and Arizona are only heating up: “Callie and Arizona get a little sexy soon. We see a little girl-on-girl action. America was asking for it and America got it.” Was about time!

But back to Alex’s hookup, my guess is still something like Addison, Teddy or even Mark’s daughter. I suppose Cristina is also an option but doesn’t she have enough on her plate? Well, anything’s possible, I suppose.
