The couple met on the set of The Myth of Fingerprints in 1996. About the separation, Noah’s rep, Eddie Michaels, told People magazine in a statement:

“Tracy Wyle and Noah Wyle, who separated in late October 2009 have confirmed they have entered into a mediation process. Neither has legally filed for divorce. Tracy and Noah live in separate residences; however their two children see both parents daily.”

It’s always sad when longtime celebrity couples decide to call it quits, but since they haven’t filed for divorce yet, maybe they’ll be able to work something out (I admit, I’m an optimist when it comes to stuff like this!). Noah is currently on an unnamed TV pilot for TNT with Steven Spielberg.

The couple, who have two sons together but have never married, split earlier this summer according to Susan’s rep, Teal Cannaday, who told Us Weekly:

“Actress Susan Sarandon and her partner of 23 years, actor Tim Robbins have announced that they separated over the summer. No further comments will be made.”

Tim and Susan met on the set of Bull Durham in 1988, and in 2005 Susan explained to the Times of London why they’d never marry:

“He is a guy guy, and he is also 12 years younger than me. I won’t marry because I am too afraid of taking him for granted or him taking me for granted — maybe it will be a good excuse for a party when I am 80. Our children and property bind us, but so does the battle. We fight strongly but fairly. I can’t say that it is always comfortable, but he is my really good friend.”

This is so sad — if there was one couple you’d think would stand the test of time it’d be these two. I wonder if we’ll ever find out what happened?

They began dating in the summer of 2007 and became engaged a year later when Busson popped the question with an 8+ carat engagement ring, which Uma plans to return. A source close to the couple says that it was likely their work schedules and constant separation that caused the split.

Uma has been previously married to actors Gary Oldman, and then Ethan Hawke, with whom she shares two children.

They announced the split just this past week after both had been noticeably absent from the other’s side for several months. Avril wrote on her website this weekend: “I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.” Avril also hints that age might have been a factor in the break-up, pointing out that they became friends when she was 17, started dating when she was 19, and married when she was 21.

It was revealed in People magazine that the marriage troubles started about six months ago but that they didn’t stem from Deryck wanting kids or because Avril wanted to date other people. The split is amicable and though the couple are no longer living together, the source says Deryck moved from their Bel Air house on his own and wasn’t kicked out.
