Justin Timberlake has come a long way since he first caused pre-teens to hyperventilate as a member of the Mickey Mouse Club. The lil’ fella has gone from bubblegum boy band castrato to respected R&B artist, actor, and comedian in what seems like the blink of a dreamy, blue eye. Along the way, he’s made many fashion decisions. Here are some of his finest. More »
The verdict is in, and it’s unanimous: during her performance on SNL this past weekend, Internet hatred magnet Lana Del Rey went down in flames like the Hindenburg. Everyone noticed, even Brian Williams. More »
Daniel Radcliffe was great as the host of SNL last night, not because he’s revealed he’s a comedic genius, but because he seemed so enthusiastic and committed in every skit. He really shined as Casey Anthony’s dog, not in small part because they let him drop the American accent he was saddled with for most of the other sketches, and they threw him one of their best Harry Potter themed sketches yet. The opening monologue, while funny (Dumbledore working… More »
So there’s this singer-songwriter called Lana Del Rey. If you don’t know who she is yet, you’re surely about to, as she’s slated to appear on Live With David Letterman, Ellen, and (this coming weekend) Saturday Night Live with host Daniel Radcliffe. Who is this pouty lite radio chanteuse and from whence did she spring? Here are some things you should know about her. More »
Oh, that Zooey Deschanel. You either love her or you hate her. You either find her quirkiness charming or it’s a level of pain on all your senses that you just wish she’d disappear already. Too bad for the latter crowd, because Zooey is on something of a hot streak and isn’t going anywhere. More »
New York’s hottest greeting card is… this thing right here. It’s got a Norman Rockwell painting, Bill Hader‘s Stefon, and a joke that’s rapidly running out of steam, I’m so sorry, everyone. More »
There was nothing wrong with Katy Perry’s hosting job on last night’s SNL; she was cute as the Hello Kitty enthusiast and hilarious as a different kind of Pippa Middleton. Whatever her strengths were though, she just couldn’t out perform Kristen Wiig who was on fire last night. In recent episode she’s stuck to her shrill/obnoxious characters like Mindy Grayson the Broadway star and the excitable Sue, but I’ve always been a fan of the understated characters she pulled out… More »
First, before we discuss Katy Perry’s boobs, me must direct you on over to Vulture to read Tara Ariano’s brilliant SNL Sketch Predictor. It is exactly what it sounds like it’ll be, and I’ll be damned if some of those exact sketches don’t end up on Saturday’s show. Now that you have read that and come back on over to me (Is that coffee? Gee, thanks!), here’s a quote from Katy herself about the types of sketches we’re likely to see: More »
Katy Perry‘s got a cute new haircut, an awesome cat-print dress, and an SNL hosting gig. More »
As someone without HBO I haven’t witnessed first hand Steve Buscemi’s jump from character actor to fancy-dressed lead. So in my mind last night’s episode of SNL was hosted by the cross-eyed dude in Mr. Deeds. He did a good job filling the crepper slot in these three sketches, and it’s nice to see that despite his monologue that attempted to separate him from the “guy you know is going to die in a war movie” and the “clumsy best… More »
It’s hard to act opposite the Muppets. They have the experience, the diversity, the multi-talented chickens. And last night, no matter how charming and fully committed Jason Segel was, he was just no match for the pull of the world’s most famous frog and pig duo, with or without pants. Here are two of the Muppet-centric skits, and one involving Andre the Giant and some frozen treats that got Segel closet to the Muppets’ level. More »
It’s truly unnerving to hear nasty “truths” about Muslims delivered in the same voice that once did “Victoria’s Secrets.” More »
The fish were bridesmaids and a shark was the man of honor — or at least they could have been at Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson‘s wedding. Kenan married Christina Evangeline at the Georgia Aquarium in his hometown of Atlanta on Friday. And he managed to be back in New York for SNL the next night. More »
Last night Emma Stone hosted Saturday Night Live for the second time. I was looking forward to her return after her performance last year, teaching us that French kids like to break out into spontaneous stiff dance breaks and the fact that silly bands aren’t as innocent as they seem. Last night we saw the return of the French teens, with even more in your face French references (Sanctuary!), but it was Emma Stone’s new characters; the beauty queen who’s… More »
Andy Samberg might look like a nice Jewish boy, but he’s actually been up to some rather shady activities lately, at least according to one St. Louis production duo. More »
Everyone’s favorite spastic and childlike It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia actor is hosting SNL this week, and from the looks of the promo, dude is PUMPED. More »
Please can Saturday Night Live make their faux-Lifetime game show What’s Wrong with Tanya?! a regular sketch? Because it’s a hilarious parody of the insane plots of the latest teens-in-trouble flicks. But even if The Powers That Be don’t bring this back in the next few weeks, at least we’ll always have Anna Faris and her pitch-perfect imitation of the quintessential, oblivious Lifetime mom. More »

Our very favorite SNL character, Stefon, made his triumphant return to Weekend Update on Saturday — and he brought a special guest! Bill Hader‘s Stefon and host Seth Myers were joined by Ben Stiller‘s male model character Derek Zoolander. More »
