One of the best things to come out of Austin, TX, Spoon has just released a new album called Transference. It is quite good. I’ve only heard it a few times and I already have songs stuck in my head.

Williamsburg’s great record store Sound Fix has moved down the block to a space where they will be able to start having in-store concerts again. Last summer, Japanese geniuses the Boredoms joined together with 77 drummers under the Brookyln Bridge to play a 77-minute composition. I wasn’t there, but I heard it was amazing and this year they’re doing it again. This time it’s on the Williamsburg waterfront, will be on August 8, 2008 (8/8/08) at 8:08 p.m., and will be 88 minutes long and it’s called–guess what–88BoaDrum.
