Steve Carell puts on quite the hairpiece (and shaves his chest) to play magician Burt Wonderstone. But can he match up to our favorite fake movie magician of 2011? More »

Go on Tumblr during last night’s Emmy Awards, and you’d see the site aflame with tearful and furious posts from Steve Carell‘s fans: He lost to Jim Parsons for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, and since this was Steve’s last year on The Office, that means he’ll go home having never won an Emmy for his work as Michael Scott. (This was his sixth nomination in the same category.) More »
Ever wondered how we got from Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire to Napoleon Dynamite‘s dance routine? YouTube user mewlists, who brought you the “25 best unscripted scenes” video that we posted a few days ago, has compiled 100 iconic dance sequences that span 90 years of film. In-between the ones mentioned above are such new classics as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s steamy tango from Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Billy Elliot giving in to the music, and Steve Carell and co. gallivanting to “The Age of Aquarius” at the end of The 40-Year-Old Virgin. This year has already seen several comedies marketed to men in which belabored husbands get to take a break from marriage. You had Hall Pass early in the year, wherein Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis‘ wives gave them carte blanche for a whole week. Today’s big release is The Change-Up, in which Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman switch bodies. Not surprisingly, Reynolds gets the short end of the stick, while Bateman gets to run around as a hot single guy, and catch the attention of his crush Olivia Wilde.
However, both of these movies have one very important thing in common: The guy who’s all talk but never follows through. We’d go so far as to say he’s neutered… and the producers seem to be banking on him as the female moviegoers’ ultimate fantasy. More »
Last night’s episode of The Office (written by the brilliant Mindy Kaling) was star Steve Carell‘s second-to-last. The gang paid tribute to their exiting boss with this reworked rendition of “Seasons of Love” from RENT. Sucks for the writer’s P.A. who had to figure out how many minutes Michael Scott worked in the office! More »
Poor Cal (Steve Carell). He thinks he has the perfect marriage, only to discover that his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) cheated on him. In desperation, he turns to oversexed, overconfident, always successful pickup artist Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling) for some tips to get his love life back on track. At the same time, Jacob finds himself out of his element when he falls for the no-frills Hannah (Emma Stone). Crazy, Stupid, Love. looks like an excellent ensemble romantic comedy, and now you can see the first full-length trailer. More »
On Friday, NBC debuted its first teaser for Will Ferrell‘s appearance on The Office. In a four-episode stint starting April 14, Ferrell will play the new boss at Dunder Mifflin. Though his character doesn’t even have a name yet, he’s obviously struck a chord with Michael Scott (Steve Carell, leaving the show in just a few episodes). More »
After alleging that fame ruined his family, Billy Ray Cyrus announces that he is mending his family. Somewhere, Miley Cyrus gives a sigh of annoyance. (People)
Emmy Rossum appeared on Chelsea Lately last night. She answered Chelsea Handler‘s question of how she kept herself from being penetrated when filming sex scenes by saying, “It’s a slippery situation.” (YourTango)
Pathetic much? Some speculate Sarah Palin created a fake Facebook account to praise herself. (Perez Hilton) More »
Dunder Mifflin has a high turnover rate: As Steve Carell gears up to leave The Office before the season finale, really funny person Will Ferrell will be stepping in to help transition audiences over to a post-Michael Scott program. According to Deadline Hollywood: More »
Despite strong ratings, we all bemoaned how the show just completely ripped off the British version -as if it was supposed to do anything else? – but did it way worse (okay, fair). Our inner Anglophile came out as we snubbed our noses at this crass reinterpretation of the oh-so-high-brow themes like “sex,” “pooping,” and “taking Ecstasy.”
Lets give it a rest, guys. If television history has taught us anything, it’s that with a little time American remakes of British programs can become very successful as soon as they stop trying to be exactly like their source material. More »
Remember how Steve Carell was totally the best part of Anchorman? His Brick Tamland became a classic almost immediately — “I love lamp,” y’all! The 2004 flick was produced back in the days when Steve still had to audition (sigh, the hard life), and his hilarious and improvy try-out vid proves he was always the only guy for the role. More »
When we attended Saturday’s Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars: A Benefit for Autism Education, we probably should have taken a hint from the name. Instead, as we stood on the red carpet, flanked by Comedy Central’s own pre-event coverage host (who we swear to god was Ryan Seacrest‘s twin brother) and something called Punchline Magazine, we found ourselves overwhelmed at the sheer number of comedians who passed our way and gladly smiled for a picture and answered our questions. Below, a gallery of the night’s biggest names, and what they told us. More »
Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit for Autism Education, hosted by Jon Stewart. We got some awesome quotes from celebs on the red carpet (including Lewis Black, John Oliver, Jim Gaffigan, Tracy Morgan, Olivia Munn, Ricky Gervais, and Tay Zonday) and then got to watch a live screening of the show that will be shown on Comedy Central on October 21st at 9 p.m. Watching a 3-hour special that will probably be edited down to an hour, we definitely were shown some stuff that is not going to make it to the episode but were friggin’ amazing. Here are our top 6 favorite moments from the show you probably won’t see. More »
Have you missedThe Office as much as we have? Don’t worry, Michael Scott and his gang of neutrally-attired employees return to the airwaves tomorrow night. To celebrate, the cast put together a lipdub — and their effort does not disappoint. (We find the ending particularly adorable, but then again, we’ve always had a little crush on Ryan.)
Since we can’t wait until Thursday, and because it’s 5 o’clock somewhere (though not in Scranton), we’ve created The Unofficial ‘Office’ Lipdub Drinking Game:

We’re not really sure what’s going on in this new sneak peek from the upcoming season of The Office, except for the fact that relatively new character and Sabre employee Gabe (Zach Woods) is putting together a podcast for the corporate website (about what, no one seems clear) and asks Kevin to help him. Kevin’s qualifications, he’s ready, willing and Irish. Okay. More »
Excited, excited, excited! We don’t really know why getting Timothy Olyphant from Justified for this little piece of stunt casting on Steve Carell’s finale season of The Office makes us squeal with joy, because really if the show’s writers wanted to keep going with their TV cross-overs, they’d keep on hiring people from The Wire.
(We could totally see Dominic West coming in to Sabre and trying to woo…Angela? I guess Angela is still single.) But hey, picking amazing actors… More »
Every day that Zach Galifianakis gives a really uncomfortable interview for his Between Two Ferns series, I do a little happy dance. But has he finally met his match in his Dinner For Schmucks cast mate Steve Carell? Duh-duh!
