Can you believe that Chloë Sevigny is turning 37 today? It seems like only yesterday, she was the subject of a New Yorker profile by Jay McInerney describing her adventures in the downtown club scene, her “it girl” status, and her first movie role in Kids. Since then, she’s matured into a serious, Golden Globe Award winning actress even as she’s remained an icon of bohemian downtown style. Here are some photos of our favorite fashion plate through the years, juxtaposed with quotes from the profile that helped launch her career. More »
Despite her busy schedule of acting, modeling, and getting followed around by relentless paparazzi, Emma Watson is trying once again to return to her studies and behave like a normal college student, this time in the hallowed halls of Oxford University. More »
If you don’t know Juno Temple‘s name now, you will soon. Or, actually, you’ll know it right now because I just told it to you — sometimes I have trouble understanding the space-time continuum. Juno’s been in movies like the Sundance darling Little Birds and Gregg Araki‘s Kaboom, and she’ll be seen in next year’s The Dark Knight Rises. She’s got a head full of curly blonde hair and a quirky sense of style. Juno Temple: commit the name to memory. More »
Oh, Jared Leto, you’re such an iconoclast with your badass skull t-shirts and your fingerless gloves. Wherever do you find such unique and subversive artifacts? Could it be at the teen clothier chain Hot Topic? We were curios how much of Jared’s wardrobe we could find close approximations of at the HT online store, and the answered turned out the be, “All of it.” More »
Chloe Moretz is 14. They grow up so fast, don’t they? More »
I have the mind of a child, and when I see something I recognize, I get excited. So every time I spot another photo of Taylor Swift wearing the same pair of boots, my brain’s all, “I know those shoes! We’re old pals.” Anyway, Taylor has this one pair of black boots that she wears all the time, and here are some of the different ways she does that. More »
You know what I learned being in Italy for two weeks? European women are, in fact, the most stylish. Which brings us to the beautiful and serene Melanie Laurent. The Inglorious Basterds star has been shooting mostly French movies lately, and I for one hope to see more of her — if only for the red carpet looks. More »
Lindsay Lohan had a court date today, and it looks like she’d perhaps planned to go camping at City Hall?. Can of beans in the front pocket, Swiss Army knife in the side pocket, blinged-out Blackberry in the back pocket. Remember: don’t look the bear directly in the eye.

Whether you’re applying for a summer internship or your first grown-up job, it’s important to remember that you will be judged by how you look. You want to look professional and show off your personality at the same time. How to do that? Well, these ten things are examples of what you definitely shouldn’t do.

With a certain royal wedding less than four days away (congratulations William and Kate!), a huge interest in British etiquette has been ignited. We all know that good manners equate to common sense, and it really isn’t a big a deal when going about your everyday business. But what do you do when you have an audience with the Queen, are expecting to be scrutinized by hundreds of discerning royals, and have to do it all in full view of a voracious 2 billion strong public, who are expected to tune in to the wedding broadcast? Spare a thought for Kate Middleton, who will have all this to contend with and therefore may be forgiven for suffering a touch of pre-wedding nerves this Friday. More »
This weekend, LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian pulled off a big surprise – they invited friends and family to an engagement party that ended up being a secret wedding. MTV posted this photo of LeAnn’s dress, and we have to say we’re a bit underwhelmed. She looks beautiful, but the dress seems too casual. Crochet? With an exposed belly button? Really? More »

Sissy Spacek in Badlands
This is a 1970s fashion movie and a period piece all in one. This genre (and it is a genre) totally excelled at interpreting styles of earlier eras into something more exciting and palpable. More »

Nanna Oland Fabricius–who goes by the phonetic pronounciation of her middle name, Oh Land–is a musician who seems to march to the beat of her own…whatever her (oftentimes handmade) instrument of choice happens to be at any given moment. This Brooklynite by way of Copenhagen creates a truly unique blend of lush electronic music, which isn’t surprising, given her background–Mom is an opera singer and Dad is a composer and organist. Originally a ballerina, Oh Land got her start after a serious back injury prevented her from dancing, which led to songwriting, recording and ultimately becoming an incredible performer, as you can see in her video for her hit song “Son of a Gun.” We caught up with the artist at a recent exhibition and performance at the Charles Bank Gallery in New York City to talk style–both on stage and off–where she gets her insanely cool shoes, and rock star beauty tips. Read on and be sure to check out her insanely good, recently debuted self-titled album if you haven’t already. More »

Amy Adams will play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder‘s revival of Superman opposite hunky British actor Henry Cavill (of The Tudors) as Clark Kent. We love Amy Adams because she is a down-to-earth beauty who seems like she could be our friend in the cubicle two over from our desk (were she ever to have the kind of job that required sitting in said cubicle). The three-time Oscar nominee and mother to beautiful baby girl Aviana always stuns on the red carpet, most recently at the Academy Awards in her navy sequined L’Wren Scott column gown with Cartier jewels. Here she is looking glam in a simple trench coat and heels. More »

Fresh-faced Australian model Miranda Kerr has been in the spotlight for the past year with her marriage to Orlando Bloom and birth of baby Flynn. In early March she stunned on the runways at Balenciaga a mere two months after giving birth, and as much as we love seeing her with her beautiful family, we always love to see her looks off the runway. We’re obsessed with Christina Christoforo‘s delightful book of illustrations called Whose Hair? Each page features a different drawing of a famous person’s hair, sans any other identifying features. It’s a guessing game for readers, who can find the solution to the coif-related trivia questions at the end of the book. We decided to play a little game of our own with five images taken from the book. How many can you get? Answers are on the last slide. More »

Emma Watson broke out of her Hermione Granger mold with one fell chop…of her hair, that is. She seems to have grown up in an instant since the first Harry Potter movies, starring in Burberry ad campaigns, Vogue UK photo shoots, and just looking fabulous around town. Here, her coat is a mix of classic trench with skinny leather sleeves that give it a downtown rocker edge. Even cooler? It can do double-duty as a dress at night, and with jeans during the day. I’m impressed by how many household items and accessories Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea Houska has managed to find in leopard print. In addition to her and baby Aubree’s clothes, she has a leopard print laptop cover, leopard print blankets and sheets, and even a leopard print hair straightener. Even the illustrated icon that represents Chelsea in the Teen Mom 2 credits is a little paw print. Today, Chelsea tweeted a photo of her latest find – a leopard print coffee sleeve. More »
