Following in the footsteps of Katy Perry who showed up to last year’s VMAs with Russell Branded nails, Twilight actress Nikki Reed showed up to last night’s Teen Choice Awards with fiance Paul McDonald‘s visage upon her hands. Don’t believe us? Here’s a close-up:

Paul McDonald is the skinny American Idol contestant who did that Ryan Adams cover we liked so much. He and Nikki got engaged in June. Evidently Nikki planned the nail are as a surprise for Paul… um, thanks?

When we think of the Teen Choice Awards, two words come to mind: “Levi” and “Johnston.” That’s right, Kathy Griffin took Wasilla’s bad-boy heartthrob as her date last year; now, fresh off a broken engagement from Bristol Palin, Levi returned to the 2010 ceremony with a new date: Brittani Senser, an R&B singer who cast him in the music video for her song “After Love.” Oh, but they weren’t the only hotties on the red carpet. Could Aaron Johnson Be The Next Spider-Man?

The chatter over who will star as a young Peter Parker in the newest Spider-Man reboot has been growing louder in recent weeks, and the latest reports say the choice of the lead actor is imminent.

In late May, the rumored candidates for the role included the original Billy Elliot Jamie Bell. Recent reports say Jamie’s screen test was among those viewed by studio execs last week — along with Kick Ass star Aaron Johnson. Other candidates reportedly include Logan Lerman, whose name has been thrown around for months, Star Trek‘s Anton Yelchin, Andrew Garfield, Alden Ehrenreich, Frank Dillane and Michael Angerano.

(500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb has been picked to direct the 3D action flick, so we’re hoping it will include a musical number, especially if Jamie Bell is cast.

Also this week, our favorite young baby daddy Aaron Johnson was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Male Breakout star. He’s up against The Blind Side‘s Quinton Aaron, Jesse Eisenberg, Liam Hemsworth and his Spider-Man rival, Logan Lerman.

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) and her Post Grad co-star Zach Gilford presented an award last night at the Teen Choice Awards. They co-presented the “Choice Summer TV Star: Female” award, which was won by Princess Protection Program star Selena Gomez:

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) appeared last night at the Teen Choice Awards, where she was a presenter as well as a nominee. Alexis Bledel’s movie, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 was up for “Choice Movie: Romance”, though it did not win (Twilight did).

Of all the Gilmore Girls actors up for Teen Choice Awards, only a handful of them walked away this year as winners. The nominees were:

Alexis Bledel (Rory) for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
Rob Estes (Jimmy) for 90210
Billy Burke (Alex) for Twilight
Jared Padalecki (Dean) for Friday the 13th
Milo Ventimiglia (Jess) for Heroes
Arielle Kebbel (Lindsay) for The Uninvited
Krysten Ritter (Lucy) for Confessions of a Shopaholic

The winners were:

Jared Padalecki‘s Friday the 13th took home the award for “Choice Movie: Horror / Thriller”

Milo Ventimiglia‘s Heroes took home “Choice TV Show: Action Adventure.”

Billy Burke‘s Twilight took home 11 awards, including “Choice Movie: Drama:” and “Choice Movie: Romance.”
