Video: Old-Fashioned Nostalgia With ‘Killer Tofu’
It is unlikely that you will find anyone that disagrees with the following statement: The original Doug was awesome. It was awesome for many reasons, and one of those reasons was Doug’s favorite fictional band, the Beets. Among their many hits was the slightly nonsensical “Killer Tofu,” and it is this which I offer forth for your listening pleasure today. YouTube user LordoftheJimmy has taken Beatles-esque anthem we all know and love and given it new life. He’s left the vocals intact, but there’s new drums, bass, keyboards and guitars, as well as a badass guitar solo. Oh, and the video’s pretty cool, too. Everyone sing along with me, now! More »

This month’s Target First Saturday party at the Brooklyn Museum (happening this Saturday, November 7) should be a good one because it is promoting the new exhibit: Who Shot Rock and Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present.
