BAM Next Wave with The National, The Breeders, and So Percussion
BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) has announced its lineup for this fall’s Next Wave Festival. I know it seems far away, but there are two very cool musical events happening.

Matt & Kim and the Breeders at McCarren
Yesterday was a beautiful day at McCarren Park Pool for one of JellyNYC’s Pool Parties. Matt & Kim were awesome and enthusiastic as always, bringing out Rude Mechanical Orchestra to play with them on their last few songs, ending with “Yea Yeah.”
The Breeders finally came on around 5:30 p.m. and were great as well. They played a great mix of old and new, getting to some of my old favorites like “I Just Wanna Get Along” and “No Aloha.” Definitely… More »

Free McCarren After Party Shows

There are a bunch of free shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg in the next few weeks. In addition to the previously mentioned Mobius Band one on July 13 after the Breeders show, DJ Spooky will be there July 17 after the DJ Shadow/Cut Chemist show, Celebration will be playing July 20 after the Liars show, and Heloise & Savoir Faire will be there August 24 after a TBA… More »

Mobius Band are playing a free show with Amazing Baby at Music Hall of Williamsburg on July 13. According to their Myspace page it’s for an after party for the Breeder’s show earlier that day at McCarren Park Pool with Matt & Kim…. More »
The Breeders Add More NYC Shows
The legendary Breeders played Webster Hall last night to a sold out crowd. Too bad for me I wasn’t there but I am super-psyched to report that they apparently announced at the show last night that they will be playing a free show at Other Music on July 11 and will be joining Matt & Kim at a free McCarren Park Pool show on July 13. Woohoo!
