Hart of Dixie hartthrob (sorry) Wilson Bethel stripped off his top for The CW’s “Give a Shirt for Climate Change” PSA. The shirtless part is awesome, and the cause part is awesome, but the ad itself is a little strange. More »
The fall TV season is underway and, despite the ever-lower numbers of women in the writers’ rooms, it’s being hailed as the year of the women: 17 out of the 25 new scripted shows on the Big Five networks are female-centered and many were created by women. In this series, comedian Leila Cohan-Miccio watches the new female-centered shows and evaluates how realistic their portrayals of women actually are. Today, the newest Kevin Williamson (of The Vampire Diaries or Dawson’s Creek fame , depending on how old you are) production, The Secret Circle. More »
Hey, it looks like a ‘Sex and the City’ prequel is in the works, courtesy of The CW. We’re impatient and don’t want to wait for them to make the thing, so we decided to write it ourselves. Feel free to film away, CW! More »

What a nice treat for Fashion Week: The CW has bought the rights to produce The Carrie Diaries, Candace Bushnell‘s YA prequel to Sex and the City. And the people helming the adaptation will be none other than Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, executive producers for Gossip Girl. So it’ll be tamer than HBO, but still probably have enough sexytimes to rile up the Parents Television Council. More »
Fall is finally upon us, which means scarves, sweaters, and all-new TV. The CW launched its new line-up on Saturday with a premiere party in Los Angeles. Representatives were there from new shows like Ringer and The Secret Circle and old ones like 90210 and Nikita. Still no wool yet, though. More »
It’s that time again: The time of preparation for new seasonal television shows! We had some good ones over the summer, many of which we either wrote about or recapped. But many of those are now winding down, and as it’s now September, it’s time to start gearing up for the new fall shows—and believe you me, there are MANY of them. We’ve already told you about Ringer and American Horror Story, so forgive us if we don’t repeat ourselves here; but! Do take a look at these 12 shows. We think they’re going to be worth checking out: More »
I’m a man who deeply values his dignity. I cling to it, actually. I won’t dance, I don’t sing in public, and I refuse to drink through straws. It’s a cloak I wear; one that I imagine protects me from the crippling judgment of my community. In reality, dignity is just another word for conformity; it’s a way for society to determine what is, and what isn’t acceptable behavior. For a man my age (let’s just say early thirties and leave it at that), dignified pursuits include resume building, home-ownership, procreation, and participating in fantasy sports leagues. Unfortunately I do none of these things. In fact, one of my most cherished pursuits would be considered decidedly undignified by society at large. I am a man (in his early thirties as previously stated) who’s addicted to teen dramas. More »
Spotted: A hot new Gossip Girl hookup! Katie Cassidy - easily the best thing about CW’s meh Melrose Place update – was caught making out with Chace Crawford (aka Nate Archibald) on the set of the equally campy, far superior CW series. Katie is currently filming a multi-episode arc as a Columbia student and love interest for Nate, who’s fresh off a breakup from Serena Van der Woodsen. More »

High Society queen Tinsley Mortimer will be partying in Las Vegas for her birthday next month. Despite her well-traveled ways, the East Coast socialite is a Vegas virgin.
“I’ve never been,” she tells Crushable, but she thought, why not? Tinsley, who turns 36 in early August , will celebrate at the Tao and Lavo nightclubs, with a posse including her sister Dabney.
Tinsley, known as “The Tinz” to many, co-starred with Dabney and her mother Dale Mercer on the CW reality show… More »
Makeover shows give us a vicarious thrill: Watching Stacy London gussy up a mother of three on TLC’s What Not To Wear is awesome because of Stacy’s constructive advice and killer one-liners. You feel genuinely happy upon the Big Reveal.
This particularly niche of the reality genre has had really low points — like the short-lived trainwreck Extreme Makeover, where regular people were given full-service, Heidi Montag-style plastic surgery for free. But at what cost? A lifetime of emotional scarring from… More »
The CW is revealing its updated series schedule for 2010-2011 to advertisers in New York City this morning. These splashy presentations are known as “upfronts,” wherein networks unveil their new lineup and ad space is bought and sold. Crushable got a sneak peak at next year’s sked:
The Vampire Diaries was good to the CW, so next season, it returns on Thursdays to scare the hell out of us.
90210 will now air on Mondays as a lead-in for Gossip Girl, which… More »
Steven R. McQueen — the young Colin Farrell lookalike currently starring in Vampire Diaries on the CW — comes from an acting family. His grandfather is (no surprise here) Steve McQueen and his grandmother is Neile Adams. His dad, Chad McQueen, is also an actor, and his mom, Stacy Toten, also has a few credits to her name. So it’s fitting that Steven has entered the family business. His first acting credit was an episode of Threshold, when he was… More »
Though Michael Steger’s high school years are more than a decade behind him, the 90210 star said he has no problem playing a teenager every Tuesday on The CW. “High school was so traumatic for me, so I remember everything very vividly,” he told Crushable yesterday. “It was a period in my life I both loved and hated.”
High school was traumatic, Michael said, because he was bullied so much that he had to switch schools. “It was a wealthier school,… More »
