The Love Guru Makes 4th Spot After All
Amidst bad reviews The Love Guru made it to 4th spot when in this past weekend charts, raking in $14 million (not being sarcastic here :).
The movie was topped by Get Smart ($39 million), Kung Fu Panda ($21 million) and the Incredible Hulk ($21 million).

The Love Guru is finally out and what seemed to be an exciting production from the brilliant mind of Mike Myers seems more and more like a flop…
While the movie only came out today, media outlet have been posting their reviews in the past couple of days and things don’t look good. Maybe we should go see Anne Hathaway on Get Smart rather than Jessica Alba on The Love Guru.

Deepak Chopra Approves of The Love Guru
While religious leaders took offense to The Love Guru, there are some who still support it. Deepak Chopra who saw the final version of the movie recently said “This was a great opportunity to make our Indian philosophy even more popular because despite the popularity of the books, young kids do not know much about it and humour is a good vehicle.”

Jessica Alba in a New NHL Commercial
Jessica Alba and The Love Guru crew had joined forces with the NHL for a commercial during the playoffs.
The movie which features Mike Meyers as a “love guru” who helps his team win the Stanley Cup. The commercial is already up on NHL.com and will be played during playoff commercials.

The Love Guru Offensive to Hindus?
Producers for THE LOVE GURU are worried that Hindus who live in the US will take offense to the movie’s language and content and in order to make sure all is “kosher” have invited religious leaders to preview the movie.
Jessica Rovins, the film’s publicist said: “It is our full intention to screen the film for Hindu leaders in the US once we have a finished print.”

Jessica Alba and Mike Myers attended ShoWest in Las Vegas last week and introduced footage from The Love Guru (due June 20th).
Myers introduced the pregnant Alba as “the woman carrying my child.”
“I’m not carrying your child,” she retorted.
“I know,” he said. “But there’s entertainment press out there, so they won’t check the facts.”
