I’m referring to Oliver Trask (Taylor Handley), the seemingly nice guy Marissa (Mischa Barton) meets outside her therapist’s door.

Of course, it doesn’t take the audience long to figure out that Oliver wants Marissa all to himself, that he “made up” his girlfriend Natalie, and plans to get rid of Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) any which way he can.

Oh, sometimes I want to throw a brick at the TV when I watch these episodes! It kills me how protective Marissa is of her so-called innocent friend, while practically forgetting about her super-hot boyfriend who wears white wife beaters.

What was your opinion of the whole Oliver fiasco? Did you want to kill Oliver too or were you rooting for him to win Marissa? Did you think Ryan went too far by breaking in to steal Oliver’s student records and taking the letter from Marissa’s locker.

Would you read the letter if it fell in your hands? If you don’t remember, Oliver gave a “love letter” to Marissa to read, but he told her it was to Natalie. But really he meant it for Marissa in his own demented way. Ryan contemplated reading the letter before actually doing it. Would you?

Clarke played Marissa Cooper’s (Mischa Barton) mom on The OC.

Sources tell Entertainment Weekly that Clarke will be playing Kelly Donovan on The Vampire Diaries, “Matt’s (Zach Roerig) irresponsible, hard-drinking absentee mother.”

In fact this woman is so horrible, she didn’t even show up for her daughter Vicki (Kayla Ewell) funeral.

Clarke, who also guest starred on CSI, will arrive in Mystic Falls in March and will be in at least three episodes. I watch The Vampire Diaries, so I’m looking forward to The OC connection.

I’m wondering if she will be a “cougar” on the show, going after one of the vampires Damon (Ian Somerhalder) or Stefan (Paul Wesley, who also guest starred on The OC in season one, by the way). I could see her character and Damon hooking up because he plays the “bad boy.”

Mischa will play a hooker named Gladys in an episode set to air March 3. Her character is hiding a secret that will be complicating for Mariska Hargitay’s Benson, TV Guide said.

The interesting part is SVU executive producer Neal Baer has been twittering clues about Mischa’s casting. His clues were Bongo, Singer and Austin.

TV Guide reporter William Keck was thinking the guest star was Matthew McConaughey, but Bauer called the writer to exclusively reveal Mischa’s casting.

Bauer said Mischa’ has played characters with those last three names – way in the past. She played Katie Singer on Once and Again, Betty Ann Bongo on animated series Kablam! and Vicky Austin in a TV movie called A Ring of Endless Light. Would you have guessed Mischa? I wouldn’t have.

Now, throw out some references to The O.C., and we would have been all over it.

Bauer told TV Guide he has been a fan of Mischa since she was a child actress in The Sixth Sense.

This of course, will be Mischa’s first work on TV since the cancellation of The Beautiful Life in September. It’s a good start.

What I thought was unique was the other girls he chose — most of the girls are a lot younger than Mischa, or at the prime of their TV stardom — including Nina Dobrev from The Vampire Diaries, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester from Gossip Girl and 90210 girls Jessica Lowndes, Shenae Grimes and AnnaLynne McCord.

The user also picked The OC’s Rachel Bilson among others.

I like that he used fashion shots of Mischa, but some from her more recent movies, including Homecoming.

Mischa was spotted out at the PAPER Magazine 5th Annual Nightlife Awards held Dec. 9 at the M2 Ultra Lounge in New York. Click here to see Mischa in the photos. Mischa, wearing a black dress and black jacket, even posed with fans.

Besides her recent interview with Heat magazine, Mischa also has a new interview in the UK version of the OK! magazine but I haven’t seen it yet.

But it appears due to several news reports, that Mischa talked about her lesbian love scenes she’s done in the past on TV (The OC) and in movies (Once and Again, You and I). I believe this is from the magazine interview.

“I don’t know why that keeps coming up. It doesn’t annoy me that much. It’s so much easier to kiss another girl. You’re so much more relaxed filming and you can have a laugh. It can get a bit tense with a guy,” Mischa said.

Mischa also is up for the AOL UK’s 2009 Eleven Awards. This isn’t a good thing. Mischa is one of four celebrities up for the “Most Spectacular Breakdown” award against Susan Boyle, David Hasselhoff and Katie Price. This is because of Mischa’s hospitalization in July. So go vote for the person of your choice.

Hopefully, we will see more photos of Mischa at events in the near future. I need my Mischa fix!

But now many questions fans have are answered in this cover story Mischa just did for the Dec. 5-11, 2009 issue of UK magazine Heat.

On the magazine cover, Mischa is featured with the words “Mischa Barton: To hell and back: Her shocking true story.” The magazine also has two photos, the large one is a recent photo that shows Mischa looking beautiful and healthy. A smaller photo shows Mischa in one of her “thin” photos from her time spent in Paris during Paris Fashion Week. The words “From this to this” is placed by the photos.

The first inside page of her magazine spread is a full page photo of Mischa (looking really good). The third page is where the story starts and features an oversized quote from Mischa:

“When things get really bad sometimes it’s better to restart and build again.”

The interview, written by Lucie Cave with photos by Odessy Barbu, was done in New York. Mischa brought along her two beloved dogs, a Pomeranian called Ziggy Stardust and her beagle/spaniel mix named Charles Dickens.

The interview deals with Mischa’s hospitalization in July, the cancellation of The Beautiful Life, her image in the media, her weight, The OC, dating and her future career plans.

What made Mischa agree to be interviewed?

“I’ve always known the magazine and I felt I needed to set the story straight on some things. I don’t usually talk much about my private life, but since it’s already become people’s business… I wanted to clear up the misconceptions,” Mischa tells Heat.

About her hospitalization in July, Mischa said:

“It was horrifyingly stressful, but it all came from a place of stress,” Mischa said, saying she was getting migraines and had wisdom teeth surgery.

But Mischa said that all just led to her being in the hospital.

“I went back there because of my teeth and I ended up getting ‘put in,’ but that’s because I was so overwhelmingly stressed out and upset.

Mischa said the hospitalization was caused by the stress of a new job and traveling.

“Actresses aren’t given the time to recover after stuff like that — you’re expected to bounce back from surgery and work right away again. You’re not given the time to be human. It’s something that could have happened to anyone – going to the hospital and having a bad experience and then being held on a 5150 (involuntary psychiatric hold) – it happens to more people than you think….,” Mischa told Heat.

Mischa said that while at the time she was shocked, she now sees she is more relaxed.

“So then, when I went back to work, I was so much happier and more positive. I was sober by then and I had no pain,” Mischa told Heat.

Mischa said many assumed it was because she was on drugs, but it was just that she was going through a tough time.

When asked if she has had fair criticism in the media, Mischa has a good answer:

“I never think it’s fair criticism if it’s people just taking pictures of you and constantly trying to find the one bad one of the lot and then printing it. I don’t think that’s fair,” Mischa told Heat.

When Mischa finds herself on the cover of a gossip magazine she wonders what she has done now, saying she’s usually the last to know what she “did.”

“I’m really tough. I’ve grown up with enough bullshit. I don’t care what people say,” Mischa told Heat.

So, what coverage does Mischa like?

“I don’t mind when people say stuff about what I’m wearing,” Mischa told Heat.

About The Beautiful Life getting canceled, Mischa said the show wasn’t given a chance.

“I’m sure it would have found its audience because it was a great show and was really high fashion,” Mischa told Heat. “It takes a while for stuff to find a following.”

About dating Mischa says “I’m not even dating! I”m on the prowl, I suppose.” Mischa also says that while she has been heartbroken, she’s never been dumped.

“I’ve never been dumped. One tried to make it quite mutual, though, so that felt as close to dumping as I got and I kind of lost it and was like ‘You are not turning this on me! I dumped you first!’ I felt like my heart was broken at the end of a couple of relationships, but it wasn’t really,” Mischa told Heat.

As for her future, Mischa is hoping to find the perfect film for her.

It’s interesting to see Mischa in a role not too long before she became Marissa Cooper on The OC.

The movie is based on the young adult novel by Madeleine L’Engle. L’Engle wrote more than 60 books, including Wrinkle in Time.

The book (and movie) tells of a girl named Vicky and her struggle to understand life and significance in the universe as she deals with her dying grandfather, while at the same time finding love. A Ring of Endless Light originally aired on the Disney Channel on Aug. 23, 2002.

Here’s a fan video that has a lot of Mischa clips from the movie, set to Beyonce’s “Halo.”

The title of the video is “The day you…. slipped away.” What I like especially about this video is how well the audio of the Marissa and Ryan is done over the music. I’ve never seen it done so well on a YouTube video.

Currently, The WB.com has 16 episodes of the fourth season available to watch (but without Mischa Barton obviously), and the first season “Homecoming” episode taking place at Thanksgiving. Follow this link to watch the episode.

This is Ryan Atwood’s (Benjamin McKenzie) first Thanksgiving with the Cohen family. But a phone call from Ryan’s brother Trey throws a wrench into their holiday plans. Marissa (Mischa Barton) ends up taking the trip to Chino, Ryan’s hometown to visit him in jail. The only problem is Trey wants Ryan to do something illegal to pay back his debt. Marissa also gets to meet Ryan’s ex Theresa.

Meanwhile, Seth (Adam Brody) tries to hide Anna and Summer (Rachel Bilson) from each other (pretty hilarious), and Sandy and Kirsten try to set up Rachel and Jimmy. But Julie and Caleb show up and cause problems. The turkey doesn’t fare so well either.

It’s a pretty good episode … so go watch it!

Here is a fan video of Ryan and Marissa from The OC (Benjamin McKenzie and Mischa Barton), Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl and Brooke and Lucas from One Tree Hill. I love Taylor Swift too, so that makes this “Love Story” video even more special.

This video has a few of my favorite scenes including Ryan running to Marissa on New Year’s Eve. But the person who made the video also does well at the end tying in the words of the song to go well with the Newport Beach’s annual Cotillion Ball scene in episode four of the first season where Ryan touches Marissa’s back while helping her tie up her white dress.
