Last night, Time magazine celebrated its 100 Most Influential People in the World list by inviting many of the list-makers to join them at a star-studded party. Taylor Swift performed with a sequined guitar, Sarah Palin addressed the crowd, and the unlikeliest of people hung out — like Betty White and Martha Stewart posing for pictures with Taylor.

Time Takes Potshots at Lohan, Speidi, Michael Jackson’s Doctor – Okay, we were willing to swallow Time‘s misguided but well-meaning list of Most Influential Artists this year. But the least influential list? It’s basically a Who’s Who of the celebrities that pepper the tabloids, which actually make them just as influential as say, Lea Michele. Sorry, but Dr. Conrad Murray is involved in a case that alledges he might have killed Michael Jackson. If that’s not “influential,” what is? (Time)

Every year, Time magazine puts out their issue with the top 100 influential people of the past year. We’ve repeatedly seen both Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie appear on the list in various positions, and they’re contenders again this year as well.
What’s different this time is that Time is allowing readers to help decide the ranking of the 100 most influential people by voting on a sliding scale.
