Poll: Is Matthew Morrison’s NKOTBSB Tour Dancing Fun Or Just Pathetic?

Despite getting his start as superb dancer Link Larkin in Broadway’s Hairspray, Matthew Morrison must have a contractual obligation that forces him to give all of the dance scenes on Glee to the kids. We know this because he breaks into dance at every other chance he gets: On Oprah, on Jay Leno, and now at the NKOTBSB tour. He’s opening for the New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys supergroup, but his moves just don’t seem to be up to snuff.

Morrison works some Michael Jackson crotch-grabbing into his routine and is definitely channeling Patrick Swayze from Dirty Dancing, but for the most part there’s a lot of fluttering and twirling. Sure, it was a showtune (“Don’t Stop Dancing”), but Morrison’s strengths are when he’s proving that white boys can breakdance — not practicing his triple lutz for the figure skating finals.

Last night, 3D IMAX star and memoir-penner Justin Bieber finished another leg of his “My World” tour in Florida, where he flew through the sky like some blindingly white Peter Pan. And then did some serious Madonna moves, from what we can tell. We wished we could see the video for this, because out of context these pics are hilarious.

Chris Brown Denied Access To Bars, Britain

Poor Chris Brown. Okay, not poor Chris Brown, in the sense that he doesn’t have any money or in the sense that we feel bad for him because lately the kid just can’t catch a break. Sorry, you beat up your girlfriend and end up with a criminal record, you should be treated like anyone else who does so, even if you are a big star.

Still, we can’t help feeling a little sorry for Chris, who has been turned away at the door in meatpacking clubs as of late, which must be utterly humiliating. And now that Chris has decided to take leave of America and do a “fan appreciation tour,” he’s not even being let into entire countries because of his incident with Rihanna in 2009. Ouch.

See, Chris was just refused a work visa in Great Britain, which would be necessary for his performances, and is putting a real crimp on his tour. As of right now, the tour is on hiatus until Chris can figure out which countries would still allow him to perform. Turns out that, at least in the eyes of the laws, jumping on stage and rapping at your screaming fans is considered “work.”

Hilary Duff: New Album, World Tour

The press release that went out yesterday announcing Hilary Duff’s new Femme for DKNY Jeans line also announces some more big news: Hilary Duff is writing her new album and plans to support it with another world tour!!

In her interview with Johnjay & Rich last month, Hilary says she never approved the ‘Best Of’ album that Hollywood Records pushed on her. She described then, and earlier, her desire to go in her “own direction” with her music. Being able to explore her own ideas without someone telling her what to do.

“I want to make my next record on my own and release it myself – it’s the new way of doing music. I want to do it in my own time and go with my own direction”

The photo above, and two more after the jump, show Hilary Duff out yesterday trying to avoid the heavy rainfall in LA. She was out shopping at Maxfield and went for lunch with friends at E. Baldi.
