Pixar Writer-Director Lee Unkrich Reveals Rejected Toy Story Titles
Last night Lee Unkrich — who’s worked on the first two Toy Story movies and wrote Toy Story 3 — found the original list of over 200 possible titles for Toy Story. It turns out that Pixar just couldn’t land on a good title back in 1995, so in desperation they put out a request to any and all employees. “There’s a reason these were rejected, guys,” he warned. ‘Cars 2′ Is the First Pixar Film to Get a Rotten Rating on Rotten Tomatoes
Since Pixar’s films consistently rank above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, it was bound to happen that one of them would fall short of the group. But it’s shocking just how much of a divide there is: Cars 2 is currently at 37%, the lowest score ever for a Pixar movie and the studio’s first rotten rating. The most baffling part is that audiences seemed to like it well enough, and director John Lasseter approached the movie with genuine enthusiasm even though it was a sequel. More »

‘Toy Story 3′ Apparently Best Movie, Ever (Or At Least In Top 10)
I love Pixar, but oddly enough I have no desire to see Toy Story 3 (sorry, Tim Allen and Tom Hanks and childhood and puppies and everything good about the world). I am also alone in that sentiment. Send in the toys — Fifteen years after the original debuted Toy Story 3 earned $40 million in ticket sales during its opening night last night. Chalk it up to nostalgia — all those kids who saw the first Toy Story in elementary school are now in their 20′s, with disposable income that can be spent on things like $18 3-D movie tickets.
