Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing Marks A Return To Homophobic ‘Real Men’ Characters
Tim Allen’s new sitcom Last Man Standing premiered on ABC Tuesday night, drawing jeers from sensible audience members and critics alike. Several took offense to one joke in particular. Mike (Allen) is complaining about the sensitivity training at the school his kids attend. “I just don’t think your kid should go to that school,” he says. “You know how that ends up—Boyd dancing on a float.”
Entertainment Weekly’s Tanner Stransky wrote a post on why the joke is offensive. And he’s right—it’s pretty awful. But the real problem is the series’ larger concern with masculinity, and a growing trend in returning to so-called traditional gender roles. More »

Tyra Banks Previews “Gossip Girl” Scene
Yesterday, Tyra Banks previewed a special sneak peak from her upcoming guest appearance on Gossip Girl, including some scenes she shares with Hilary Duff. In Gossip Girl, Tyra plays Ursula, an actress who co-stars with Hilary Duff’s character, Olivia, in a series of very successful vampire movies.
The scene previewed by Tyra appears to be from that fake vampire movie, Fleur, which is presumably the latest one to open up at the movie premiere we see here.

It looks like the 1920s theme party was an elaborate scene to film! Hilary Duff was back in her flapper dress and hair for a second day of filming Gossip Girl yesterday at the Empire Hotel in New York. This time, we see her start off her day in cutoff jean shorts:

Hilary Duff the Flapper on “Gossip Girl” Set
Hilary Duff returned to filming Gossip Girl yesterday in Chelsea, New York. She was dressed up in 1920s flapper style, first getting her hair styled, then later changing into a flapper dress. The style looks amazing on her, don’t you think?
By my rough estimate, this may be the 3rd episode that Hilary Duff has filmed for Gossip Girl, out of the 6 scheduled. I look forward to hearing more about how this scene fits in!!

Hilary Duff was seen yesterday on the Gossip Girl set in Manhattan rehearsing lines with co-star Penn Badgley, who will be the romantic interest for Hilary’s character (Olivia).

Though later in the day Hilary will have her hair curled and her outfit glammed up a bit, Hilary Duff was pictured yesterday arriving to the Gossip Girl set in Manhattan wearing just a simple white tee and jeans:

Aw!! We saw that Hilary Duff flew into New York with two of her dogs, Lola and Coco, and now it looks like they’re keeping Hilary company on set. This morning, a very sleepy-looking Hilary was seen carrying a very excited Lola to her trailer at the set of Gossip Girl.

Although Hilary Duff arrived yesterday to the Gossip Girl set wearing a casual outfit, it looks like her scenes near Gramercy Park were anything but casual! I’m guessing this is a scene where Hilary Duff’s character, Olivia Burke, is doing something as an actress.
It looks to me like this is another bandage dress from Hervé Léger, which to me is a nicer one than the green dress Hilary wore to host the Hervé Léger party earlier this year…. More »

This morning, Hilary Duff was photographed returning to the New York set of Gossip Girl, where she’s filming a six-episode guest arc as Olivia Burke, an actress who is seeking some ‘real’ life experiences at NYU.

Hilary Duff Back on “Gossip Girl” Set
Hilary Duff was spotted back on the set of Gossip Girl in New York yesterday to re-shoot some scenes from her first day. This first day shows Hilary’s character Olivia Burke meeting Penn Badgely’s character Dan. At this point, Dan doesn’t know that Olivia is an actress, just that she’s a student at NYU.
According to the latest fan club email, Hilary Duff will be visiting Bogota, as previously mentioned, “within the next few days.”

Hilary Duff was spotted filming the movie premiere scene of Gossip Girl alongside Tyra Banks at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York. Hilary Duff’s character is actress Olivia Burke and Tyra Banks plays actress Ursula Nyquist. In this scene, they’re attending a movie premiere for a film they presumably co-starred in called Fleur.

Hilary Duff continued filming Gossip Girl yesterday in New York City. In the scenes, Hilary Duff and many of the regular Gossip Girl actors dressed up in glam outfits. They were set to film a movie premiere scene, probably the tie-in with guest star Tyra Banks.
Hilary Duff’s character, Olivia Burke, is attending the premiere in a Marchesa Mini Dress. It’s the same dress that Miley Cyrus wore to the 2008 American Music Awards.
