  There’s no doubt that the food truck phenomenon is sweeping the nation. Here in New York, you can’t hit a farmer’s market or outdoor event without seeing a handful of trucks dishing up everything from cupcakes and premium ice cream to Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches and pizza made in an on-board wood-burning oven. These truck are elaborate and gourmet, and good eating if you can track them down. They bring unique culinary creations to you, instead of you going to the hottest restaurant in the city.

  And no one can extol on the virtues on the food truck like Tyler Florence, the Food Network chef and host of the new show The Great Food Truck Race, which premieres Sunday.
