According to Deadline, Fox has tapped Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta to develop a show based on Texts From Last Night. Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time Fox has tried to turn TFLN into a show; two Steve Holland, who wrote for The Big Bang Theory and Kenan & Kel among other things, was tasked with bringing the website to the small screen, and the season following, Marc Abrams and Michael Benson of The Bernie Mac Show took over.

Will Horta make it work? Who knows. Honestly, I just want to know what the pitches for the actual premise of the show are going to be like. Oh! I know! How do these ideas sound?

• CSI: TFLN: This procedural follows edgy detectives Molloy (Sean Patrick Flannery, in a move to revive his career) and Simms (Michelle Trachtenberg, in an effort to finally be seen as an adult) attempt to solve the most difficult of crimes through the careful analysis of the debauched texts sent by the victims the night before.
• Whose TFLN Is It, Anyway?: An improv comedy show hosted by Adam Sandler wherein the prompts for each scene have been assembled from the audience’s most embarrassing texts. Bonus points if you can identify which audience member your prompt came from.
• Desperate TFLN: Only their texts reveal exactly what the ladies of Petunia Path get up to in their free time…
• Mad TFLN: A stylish period piece that follows the lives of the employees of a well-known ad agency during the high-flying, text-happy 1960s. What’s that, you say? Texting didn’t exist in the ‘60s? LALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU.
• Battlestar TFLN:This sci-fi epic employs futuristic technology in each person’s cell phone to prevent the sending of unfortunate text messages before the messages have even been thought up. But what happens when the cell phones start turning against their makers?
• TFLN, MD: A crotchety doctor played by British actor Stephen Fry in his first turn as an American solves medical mysteries with the help of his patients’ cell phone records.
• TFLN: The Sitcom: Essentially, How I Met Your Mother. With even more texting.

Hmmm… none of these are really doing it for you, are they? Ah well. I’ll keep thinking. You keep thinking, too; the only way to make this work is if we all get it on the conversation. But I mean, hey, it’s going to be on Fox, so it won’t really matter if it’s any good; it’ll just get cancelled after the second episode anyway. Carry on!

Peter Gallagher, perhaps best known among the under-30 set as tree-hugging, touchy feely, surfing father Sandy Cohen on The OC, joined Twitter a few weeks ago, at the insistence of a new co-star, Christopher Gorham (@Chris_Gorham), who you might recognize as Betty’s love interest Henry on Ugly Betty. “I was paralyzed at the thought of telling anyone anything…now I’m like digging it,” Peter (@petergallagher_) said of his new love of tweeting. He said a frequent event in his house is him yelling, “Just one minute, honey, I’m twitting!”

Peter met his Twitter mentor Chris on the Toronto set of their new USA Network show, Covert Affairs, a one-hour show starring Piper Perabo as a young, promising CIA agent. Chris plays a blind agent/friend/mentor to Piper’s character Annie, and Peter plays their boss, Arthur Campbell.

Speaking to reporters last week, Peter was self-deprecating, and said he didn’t know how long his small part on Covert Affairs, which debuts July 13, would last. “I had no idea how many episodes I was going to be in this season,” Peter said. “I thought I was just going to be doing the first couple.”

To get into the mind of a CIA director, Peter talked to the show’s technical advisor Valerie Plame (remember her?) and developed a background for the character. But not knowing how big his part would be, Peter said he didn’t do any big research or training. “If this was a show called Arthur Campbell: CIA sure, I’d be living in [CIA headquarters] Langley and I could kill you with a look. I could beat you to death with my eyebrows,” he joked. “But that’s not the show.”

For Peter, getting involved in Covert Affairs was just a chance to work with executive producers Doug Liman and David Bartis, who he had previously worked with on The OC. And, it was a chance to get back on TV and connect with fans. To that end, Peter said he’s been loving interacting with fans through Twitter.

“I love the fans. I’d be out of business without them,” Peter told Crushable. “I’m still crazy enough to think that storytelling is really important…And there’s nothing more powerful, in my eyes, than a story well told, other than contributing to that story being told well. When a story works, it sort of creates a little sense of community…I’ve been talking to people from all over the world…I’ve gotten lots of notes from people about Sandy Cohen and fathering. And sad stories and things, and I’m moved by that…If people were coming up to me on the street and throwing Bibles at me and saying, ‘You suck,’ that would be different. But that hasn’t been my experience. I can look forward to that.”

“I’m always telling people that I’m not Justin,” Mark sighed, “though I did grow up on that show. We made history as the youngest kids ever on television (to share a gay kiss). And I liked the show because the words ‘gay’ were never uttered in our storyline. Because to me, we were letting the viewer make their own choices about the characters … we weren’t shoving it in people’s faces.”

Compared to what, say, Kurt (Chris Colfer) character on Glee?

“See, I am an avid Glee watcher, but that story to me is like every other gay story ever told. The unsupportive father in the beginning who walks in on his son dancing … and Justin was flamboyant, I get that, but … we were real and we showed the real stuff.”

Now Mark is working an internship at Teen Vogue, which he says is nothing at all like the gigs  held by Lauren Conrad or Whitney Port on The Hills. “No, it’s like a real internship … like they have me putting together boxes and stuff. They don’t treat me like a celebrity.”

When we asked him what type of TV or movie show he’d like to do next, Mark became super animated. “My dream role ever…I wanna be in an action movie with Angelina Jolie, I want to fall off a building, I want to shoot a gun, I want to be in Wanted! I want to be in a fist-fight with Angelina, just like punching her in the face, all scratched and fun … that would be so fun!”

What about his own reality show? “I’m still thinking about that,” he said. “Maybe. It would be more towards showing people that Justin was not me, and that I do other things too. But you’ll see I’m not a depressed person … it would be more about the way we live our lives.”

Sounds like that’s more than idle chatter to us … so let’s keep our fingers crossed for a Mark Indelicato reality show! We would totally watch, and not just because we loved Justin.

“You know what I like to do when I’m scared? I tuck myself in bed and, just like when I was a kid, I pull the covers up over my head. When you do that, you’re completely safe from the rest of the world. That’s my escape plan.”

So who does Mark look to as role models of his own? He told us he turns to his Ugly Betty cast members, who he still sees often even though the show’s final episode has aired. “They kept me in check for four years,” Mark said of cast members including Michael Urie, Ana Ortiz and America Ferrera. “They haven’t let me become a drug addict or alcoholic – yet – and they still won’t let me!”

Mark Indelicato told Crushable that, although he’s avoided the pitfalls of celebrity, he could have just as easily found himself heading down the wrong path. “The opportunity is always there,” he told Crushable. “So, they definitely kept me out of that party scene and that limelight so I thank them for that. I am so grateful that I had a cast that did that. Because as much fun as the party seems now, I don’t know if I would have been able to do it.”

Mark is finding some time to party, though. We talked to him at the Teens Making a Difference gala, where he posed for pictures with Real Housewives of New York City‘s Ramona Singer‘s daughter Avery. But he won’t have much time to party once he moves to Pittsburgh, where he’ll star as the Artful Dodger in the city’s Civic Light Opera‘s production of Oliver! in early June. “There’s talk about bringing Oliver! back to Broadway,” Mark told Crushable. “If they bring it to Broadway I would be so honored to do it. Broadway’s always been one of my dreams. Any chance to do it would be great.” Still, although he is singing in Oliver!, Mark’s first love will always be acting. “I think is kind of my calling,” he told us. “I feel more comfortable in that.”

Lastly, we couldn’t help but ask Mark to give us the dirt on those rumors about a possible Ugly Betty movie. “Let’s hope there’s some truth to [the rumor],” Mark said. “We’re very excited about continuing the Betty story. We want to continue the Betty story. And I think a lot of people want to see it happen because the cancellation happened too quickly. A movie would be great. We all want to do it, we’re all up to it. We just have to get a script and someone to pay for it.”
