Let’s Discuss How Annoying Vanessa Hudgens Was On Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Did you see Vanessa Hudgens on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night? If you missed it, you should consider yourself lucky. Unless you’re a big Hudgens fan, then maybe you would have enjoyed it.

Jimmy Fallon and Hudgens played a round of Shoe Golf and it was five minutes of awkwardness. Between all the squealing, whining, bizarre laugh and screaming of “hiya” over and over again, it was difficult not to squirm over it and stew in your own uncomfortableness on your couch. Hudgens had never played Shoe Golf before, but that doesn’t make up for all the noises she made.

First of all, it’s a golf game in which shoes are being tossed, so the need to scream “hiya” is unnecessary because it’s not karate. Secondly, just because Jimmy is a pro at this game and is clearly kicking ass, it doesn’t mean that whining on national television is acceptable. Ever.

Thirdly, how many times does one need to say “oh snap?” Didn’t that phrase go out in 2009? Perhaps I’m being too harsh; perhaps these are fundamental “cute” qualities in a girl and I just never got the memo. Perhaps I should have been taking notes?

Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens are adorable. I thought I would be saying this about them as a couple, but it turns out that she’s currently dating Chord Overstreet lookalike Austin Butler (from Lifetime’s The Bling Ring). Regardless, Josh and Vanessa obviously know each other pretty well after starring in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, as evidenced by this radio interview they did with The Kyle and Jackie O Show in Australia.

The hosts usually ask their celebrity guests to do interviews pretending to be another star, but since they had two on the show, they asked Josh and Vanessa to just play each other. What followed was an exchange with Vanessa pitching her voice low and Josh imitating the High School Musical star’s high-pitched laugh. You might think that he’s exaggerating, but wait until the end of the video to see that it’s entirely accurate.

Overall the People’s Choice Awards 2012 were relatively boring. The highlight was all that unbrushed hair. We’re not knocking women who choose to wear their hair down, but if you’re going to do so, then at least brush it. We’re not being picky, we’re just being rational. FYI: brushes are your friends.

We get that the awards at this particular ceremony are chosen by “the people,” but how that’s any less important than the Golden Globes or Oscars is a mystery. An awards show is an awards show. So ladies, like for real, do your hair! Brushes and hair product are really cheap–we promise.

50 Cent Is The Best Pimp That Vanessa Hudgens Ever Had (In The Movies)

50 Cent has been working really hard on his challenging new role: Pimp. No, seriously. The rapper-turned-actor — who’s portrayed a drug dealer and a cancer-ridden football player — will play Vanessa Hudgens‘ pimp in The Frozen Ground, a new thriller.

As he told Celebuzz,

“I’ll be the best pimp she ever has. I play Vanessa’s pimp in the movie, and I’ve really been working on it. It was an interesting project and is based on a true story, so there was a lot of information I could use to build the character.”

You couldn’t find an odder pair, right? The former High School Musical star gave up the Disney career and has been choosing gritty roles lately. Earlier this year she was a mental patient in Sucker Punch; and her movie Gimme Shelter, in which she plays a pregnant, homeless teenager, is in post-production. Can we just make sure she doesn’t bring that awful haircut into The Frozen Ground?

And then you have Fiddy, whose career seems to be evenly split between somewhat stereotypical roles and more unique parts. According to IMDb, he’s been fairly busy, scooping up a bunch of upcoming films. It isn’t clear what his roles are in any of these, but this is how they break down:

Vengeance: an action/crime drama whose tagline is Death walks alone.
Freelancers: the son of a murdered NYPD officer takes over his father’s post.
Fire with Fire: firefighters testifying against each other.
Lives of the Saints: IMDb gives us no hints on this one.

The “true story” that 50 Cent was referring to in The Frozen Ground is about serial killer Robert “Butcher Baker” Hansen, an Alaskan pimp turned serial killer who murdered at least 20 prostitutes in the ’70s and ’80s. Nicolas Cage plays the Alaska State Trooper who works with Vanessa’s character to track down killer John Cusack.

How do you know Abigail Breslin‘s grown up? She joins an indie teen sex comedy called A Virgin Mary. Now, she’s never been squeaky-clean — consider her “Superfreak” dance in Little Miss Sunshine – but the plot still comes as a shock: Abigail’s character promises her best guy friend that if neither of them has lost their virginity by 18, they’ll sleep with each other.

Joining Abigail in A Virgin Mary are Carter Jenkins as the lucky guy (Valentine’s Day), Keke Palmer (last seen on Degrassi) as her best friend, and Daryl Sabara (from the Spy Kids movies).

Turns out this is something of a pattern: Many other young Hollywood actresses made the transition to more adult movies with a single role, shocking either because of their age or their previous “good-girl” look.

The reasoning behind Ben Affleck‘s awful Justin Bieber (circa 2009) haircut has finally been revealed: It’s for a movie! Specifically, for a project called Argo, which is set during the Iran hostage crisis of 1981. (Fun fact: That means the Biebs used to sport a cut from thirteen years before he was even born.)

Sadly, Affleck is not the only one to compromise his pretty hair for a plum role. I’m not talking about actors who suffer under itchy wigs — these are the ones who took razors and scissors to their award-winning locks and went temporarily ugly for the chance of big bucks at the box office.
