Nancy Grace Has A Wardrobe Malfunction On ‘Dancing With The Stars’ [NSFW]

After impressing everyone with the size of her boobs on the DWTS premiere, Nancy Grace has gone a step further and impressed everyone with the size of her areolas…unintentionally, we assume.

Following a rousing quickstep number, the camera panned over the audience while host Tom Bergeron said, “here we go, just to help you out there a little bit. Holy cow. That’s all right. On the European version that would be perfectly fine.” (I love the nervous way his voice cracked on “fine.”) What was he helping her out with? Sharp-eyed viewers saw a split second of a partially exposed areola before the camera person cut swiftly away, thoughts of FCC fines no doubt dancing in his or her head.

Luckily for everyone who wants to perv on Nancy Grace (which is…a lot of you, apparently?), Gawker‘s Matt Cherette took a screencap at just the right moment, producing the NSFW-ish picture you see above. Nip slip aside, she managed to do quite well in the competition…a full video of her segment, below.

15 Celebrity Wardrobe Malfunctions

To be fair, wardrobe malfunctions happen to all of us. They’re just funnier when they happen to celebrities. So what are we going to do about that? Laugh, of course. Heartily. You’ll notice that Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears are absent here; this is largely because I’m pretty convinced their numerous wardrobe malfunctions are intentional and therefore not funny. What you WILL find here, though, are 15 cases of celebrities unexpectedly doing valiant battle with their clothing. Sometimes they win; sometimes they lose; but either way, everyone can have a good laugh about it the next day. Carry on!

Breaking Down The Appeals Court’s Ruling Against FCC’s Indecency Rules

Big news in the entertainment world today: a three-judge appeals court has thrown out recent indecency rules put forth by the Federal Communications Commission, the government body that oversees the media. The judges’ ruling, while marking a huge victory for Hollywood, is actually pretty difficult to understand.

The most important thing to know about the ruling is that the appellate court said the FCC’s rules, which punished networks for things like the Janet Jackson “wardrobe malfunction” and f-bombs slipped out during award show acceptance speeches, were in violation of the First Amendment — or free speech. The court admonished the FCC for its previous rulings against the TV networks and called its current policies “impermissibly vague.” In other words, vague rules are not good.

The panel of judges also addressed sex in the media, calling it an “important and universal theme in art and science.” Here’s one difficult passage from the ruling:

“The absence of reliable guidance in the FCC’s standards chills a vast amount of protected speech dealing with some of the most important and universal themes in art and science. Sex and the magnetic power of sexual attraction are surely among the most predominant themes in the study of humanity … By prohibiting all ‘patentently offensive’ references to sex, sexual organs, and excretion without giving adequate guidance … the FCC effectively chills speech because broadcasters have no way of know what the FCC will find offensive.”

To translate: the FCC’s current rules are vague and therefore wrongfully prevent TV networks from showing potentially offensive things like sex, because they are worried that they’ll face penalties like fines. Instead, the FCC’s guidelines should be totally clear, so that artists can create shows without the fear of repercussions. For example: “one butt cheek can be shown, but not the crack.”

But, this fight is probably not over. Experts say this ruling will likely be appealed to the Supreme Court, as the war over decency in the media rages on. Do you think networks should be penalized for things like f-bombs in acceptance speeches? What is appropriate for TV?

Lindsay Lohan Flashes the Paps

Oh darn! Lindsay has gone such a long time without accidentally showing anything to photographers. Well, sadly that lucky streak is over. Lindsay Lohan was heading to Maxfields on the 28th after having lunch at Cecconi’s in Hollywood. While she was leaning down into her car, her oversized white tee slipped down to reveal a bra-less slip of the nip.
